Dangerous rides?

IMO, Space Mountain is scarier than all of them. I always feel like it's going to fall apart.

i always feel that somethings going to come along and smack me in the head. it's just because its pitch black.

oh and i've read that on RnRC, the force of gravity will keep you in the seat as long as the car is moving... that's why you are allowed to keep your bags. the only reason you need the safety bars really is incase of an emergency stop... and probably because they have to.

I like the seatbelts better on TT, not for the safety, but because you dont have something in front of you to hold onto, it adds to the rde. I alwys love seat 13. I like the posts about Space Mountain, how it feels like your gonna fall off the track, or hit your hands, I think we all feel that way for some odd reason.

Now for me, the scariest ride the is Astro Orbiter. Its old, has a crappy rope belt, and when you come up and down, it feels like your gonna get thrown from the rocket, it really does have some side force.

I love AO.
My wife and her best friend cried as the little girls they rode with went up and down....

Now the tea cups...that's my fear.

Can i just say that as a coaster enthusiast who has been on 318 different roller coasters, Space Mountain is just about the only coaster that still scares me! Lol. Doesn't stop me from riding it, but yes, I feel like the whole thing is gonna collapse around me!

I ride MS orange on every trip, I love it even though it makes me queasy after, green just doesn't compare. But I also rode RRC once (and only once) and hated it. It was the longest 3 minutes of my life. What makes RRC worse than MS for me? No clue... Perhaps I just always wanted to be an astronaut?

But you are absolutely fine riding anything there as long as you follow instructions and sit back and enjoy the ride. Because at the end of the day Disney doesn't want bad publicity or a lawsuit.

I'm the exact opposite. I did mission space on my last run through Epcot, green...I couldn't handle it. Almost got sick.
I can't ride fair style rides, they mess with my equilibrium. But roller coasters I have no issue with, but mission space (and the tea cups) are about the only rides I can't do at WDW.

But your right, If you listen to the safety speals, and listen to cast members, you will be fine...like you said, they don't want a lawsuit.

I have never been and will never go on any roller coaster that wasn't in Disney. In Disney I have been on all of them. I never worry about it, I just ride it. They all seem pretty calm to me and the only time I get a little anxious is on RcRC during the inversions, but that happens so fast that it is done before I even realize it's happening. The other is the backward part of EE, for that one I always have a certain amount of fear.

You wouldn't ride one at universal or say sea world? Why not?

Because I don't like roller coasters, especially high altitude, high speed coasters. If I were to ride one I would do it in a place that has very deep pockets that people want to get into. That's giving them the incentive to be sure that things are fastened like they should be.:jawdrop:

I understand that. My wife used to not ride any roller coasters except RnR. We haven't made it to Everest, but she rides everything at WDW outside of AK.
She did ride everything at universal and SeaWorld now too...
But won't do anything at Six Flags or Busch Gardens...

I've go on every rollercoaster I've ever been near. But. I love them though

I have never heard of anyone being hurt on any Disney ride or attraction when they followed all the rules. The people that get hurt either didn't follow the rules or had some sort of pre existing condition where they should not have been riding in the first place. I really don't understand all the Mission Space orange problems either, I have been the rule breaker and looked around and not straight ahead like the tell you and it does not bother me in the least, but my brother in law who has never found a roller coaster he won't ride came off looking very green and looking for a trash can because he couldn't make it to the bathroom. Just last year my daughter and I rode Splash mountain and they forgot to put the bar down and we were fine.

It is the unfamiliar that causes most of peoples' fears. As long as you have no health issues, which you are warned about, don't stick out your hands and arms and can fit in the seat, you are safer than if you are driving a car.
