D23 Magic & Merriment Event at WDW

If the event was "overpriced" it would not have sold out in less than 10 minutes. You really cannnot blame Disney for charging what they can get for this. The highlight of course is a tour of the Castle Suite. I am not aware of any other way you can purchase entry into the suite at any price.

I'm thrilled we were able to get tickets this year after being shut out last year.

If you read some of the comments on the D23 Facebook page and elsewhere, it sounds like a lot of people got a "sold out" message by 1:01 p.m. (1 minute after the tickets went on sale). Sarah and I were both trying, and as soon as she clicked the link, it said sold out.

With only 200 tickets, it's admittedly hard to determine actual value of the event, but D23 has stated that the prices for the events are determined by the cost of holding the events. I would bet the events aren't all that profitable of ventures (if at all) for Disney.

In any case, we're ecstatic that we were able to get tickets. To each his own, though.

Congrats to those of you who got tickets. I wanted to get tickets for my daughter and I but didn't get them. I also kept refreshing my screen continuously (every 2 seconds) until the ticket option popped up. As soon as it popped up I clicked and got the SOLD OUT message. I was quite bummed and thought that they actually must pre-sell these tickets to VIPs. Otherwise how could they all be sold out 2 seconds after starting to sell (that's not even enough time to type in your name and ID #). I could understand even in a minute or two, but 2 seconds. I also would gladly pay for this event for what it includes. Anyone purchase any extras out there anywhere?

Hey Figment do you know for certain there were only 200 tickets this year? If so now I really feel lucky to have gotten them!
