On the day we head out to WDW, we intend to start driving down around 3am. We live near Trenton/Philly. We're literally on local roads for 5 minutes before hitting the NJ Turnpike/95 and then we pretty much don't have to bother with local roads again.

Assuming no traffic beforehand, we'll probably hit the Washington Beltway between 5:30 and 6am.

Based on anyone's previous experience, is it better to try to bypass the Beltway by getting on 301 south of Newark DE until it crosses 95 around Richmond? Or would/should it not be so bad that early?
