Current weather

I just got back from WDW and here are my thoughts on current weather. I went to WDW from 40's and 50's in London with damp weather and the rest of my group came from CT with lots of snow. I was in WDW from Jan 23 to the 29th. The weather in the begginning of the week was cool about 50 to 58 some cloud and some sun and quite a bit of wind. It froze 2 nights. So if you were out in the eve with the wind it felt very cold and this was with some of the party being used to New Englad temps. We wore jeans, t shirts, sweaters, spring like coats and I wore gloves, scarf and hat sometimes as well essp in eve. It amazing how cold the 40's and 50's can feel in the dark and with the wind. Also on outside rides and get wet rides like Splash. One eve at Epcot we went home cause we were too cold. Amazing though some people are out in shorts and t shirts in this weather we saw lots of people in eve with only sweatshirts on... I think people think FL never gets cold. We did get some sun at the end of the week but still windy and our highest temp was 72. We had 2 days of scattered showers. We wore carpis and tanks on the warmest day. So my advice for WDW in winter bring all items of clothing and be prepared for all sorts of weather! Oh the rest of my party are still there (boo hoo) and it is warmer 74 and sunny now.

Good advice.

I get cold down here when it hits 55 or lower. I see people who are down from Minnesota or New York dressed in shorts when it's 53 degrees down here in the winter. I wonder if they aren't cold in the shorts, if they figured Florida would be warmer and didn't pack anything else, or if they think that if they just wear shorts long enough, it'll warm up. Sort of like "willing it" to get warm. :)

On some days in the winter I can wear shorts and a t-shirt during the day, and pants, layers, a jacket, hat and gloves at night on certain days.

I think it's more about what you're used to. Here in Connecticut, we had about three weeks when the temperature never broke 25 degrees. When it finally went up into the 40's, everyone shed their coats. Last weekend it went into the 50's briefly, and there were indeed people in shorts and tee shirts.

Of course, we are now expecting a sizable snowstorm tomorrow. Thankfully we have only two weeks until our trip. If the weather is even in the 70's in Orlando, we will be in the pool.

Just a follow up to my post from yesterday, when I said we were waiting for a snow storm. It is now 51 degrees and the sun is out. Hopefully the Orlando weather will be a little more predictable than New England.
