Current weather at Disney World?

Hi all,
I have been looking at a 10 day forecast (as we are off in just 12 days!) and i was a little worried to see scattered thunderstorms every day! Does anyone know what the weather is really like at the moment. When scattered thunder storms are predicted is that just the standard afternoon storm? Also if it says 30% chance of scattered thunder storms then what is the likelyhood of it actually raining??
We are coming from the UK where it is currently thunderstorming and flooding and we were hoping to catch some rays, whats the likelyhood of us seeing some sun? We are looking for replies from people who are either currently at Disney or have just been, or just generally know how it goes!
Obviously none of you (probably) are weather experts, but any updates would be appreciated!

Many many thanks!

Hi there - we leave from the UK in 13days time so we'll be there together!!

Without claiming to be Mother Nature obviously I cannot confirm to predict the weather - however I can say with conviction that it will indeed rain, and probably most days.

Having been to Orlando numerous times over the summer months in the past I can tell you that it has always rained at some point. Florida is so humid and the thunderstorms are nothing short of intense (I can safely say nothing like the conditions we are recieving now for one, it's not warm here!!) - you need the storms to break the humidity and will feel so much more comfortable for it.

I am sure we will have plenty of sun too - I darn well hope so !!

We are leaving around the same time and have been going in the summer forever. There is always that identical weather forecast as you mentioned, every day. Some days there isn't a storm, some days there is around a 20-30 minute torrential, break-out-the-ark storm. Then, all is well again.

So I am expecting the same 90 degree mornings w/ 90% humidity, followed by a storm that breaks the humidity some.

However I am speaking from experience, not from what is happening right now. If any locals on these boards would like to chime in that would be teriffic.

Enjoy your trip:wave:

Yes, Summer in Flordia is hot humide with lots of Thunder storms in the afternoons. They don't last long though so don't let them stop you! Just make sure you bring your rain gear, or you can by ponchoes in every gift shop, just ask for them cause they keep them behind the counter. They are one of the cheapest things you can buy, I think they are like $7 for an adult one.

I sent you a PM with specifics, but you don't have anything to worry about. There's a front approaching Orlando the middle of next week, but mostly it's just the normal isolated afternoon sea breeze thunderstorms.

Im leaving in 2 days and Im not worried about storms, this will be my 5th trip over the years and I think out of all 4 trips which are always in mid june (7 days each time = 28 days) I think it rained twice and each lasted 10 - 15 minutes and then 15 minutes later you would have never known it rained.

It's the start of the normal rainy season here in Florida right now. Basically, every day you can count on a storm that could last from 15 minutes to 2 hours sometimes, depending on the sea breezes from the Atlantic and the Gulf. The storms can also be widely scattered....it may rain at MK but not at EPCOT.

With regards to the sunshine, most every day will start out sunny. By noontime you will start to see the big thunderheads starting to build and rain usually popping up around 2-3pm. If it's a normal summertime pattern, most of the showers will be gone or dying down by 7pm.

Pack a poncho and extra dry socks, you'll be fine :)

Oh - word from my friend who did a semester college in London: Thunder is harmless. He says it's a lot louder here.
