Current evening EMH policies for offsite guests?

I've done some searching and most of the info I found is several years old, so I am trying to find out what the current policies are about offsite guests who are in the parks when evening EMHs begin.

I have read about people being "carded" at the entrances to different lands, at the bathrooms, at shops. If all this is still the way things are enforced, then it is clear what Disney's opinion is, and I would leave.

But I have also heard some say that Disney doesn't care if offsite guests stay to enjoy the ambiance, and may even be happy to let them spend money, as long as they don't try to do rides or shows.

Unless something has changed very recently, there is no rule that says you must leave the park during EMH. You can stay, shop and eat. You cannot ride any rides, see any shows or watch any movies. No attractions for you!

During the hard-ticket parties (like MNSSHP, MVMCP and NoJ), you must leave the park. You can't visit attractions, shop, eat or even just walk around. You gots to go!!

Thanks! That is helpful. We will generally be avoiding EMH but I wanted to know what to expect the day or two where we might intersect with them.

From what I see you can stay in the park, you just won't be able to ride any rides as you are asked to show your KTTW card/magic band at each attractions entrance

The issue may come up sooner, rather than later, due to the Magicbands. It has been mentioned that the reason the MM+ scanners have been placed or are being placed at all attractions/rides is not just for FP+ but to scan during special times, such as EMH. If you don't scan 'green', then you won't be allowed on the ride/attraction. Not sure when or if this will be implemented.

I believe you will also need to scan to open the stall door in restrooms. After you have used the facilities, you will be locked out from re-entry for 5 minutes. A similar system is being Imagineered for benches, trash cans, and certain "My Magic+ Exclusive Paths," like the one between Storybook Circus and Tomorrowland, or Main Street, USA. Non-Banders, as they are called at TDO, will be forced to take the new bypass behind Main Street

Referring to the title.... "Current evening EMH policies for offsite guests?"

Same as always.... get out :).
That's absolutely not so. The park was never closed to offsite guests during those nighttime EMHs, not from the first day they had them. Disney WELCOMES them to stay, eat and shop their hearts out.

it is already being done with KTTW cards. Unless they put in turnstiles, they will still need to have staff people somewhere before loading, because there would be nothing to stop people without a wristband from just walking past the tapstile and getting in line.

I prefer the KTTW card. I can have it on a lanyard around my neck and just lift that. I have to dig around in my purse for the wristband. I hope they allow both options, but it looks like they are trying very hard to make all the wristbands work so they can stop giving people KTTW cards.

Each ride will have a scanner, of course it will have to have a CM that is following procedure and making sure everyone scans their wristband for it to be enforced.

EMH aren't all that bad. When MK is open really late they are a benefit. Most people can't stay out til 1 or 2am for those really late EMH, especially those with little kids.
