I haven't been on the Backlot Tour since 2006, and am looking forward to taking my fiance on it for her first time in January. Can anybody give me a summary of the current state of the ride, and any interesting props are back there currently?

All I remember from my 2006 ride was the escape pop from Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy.

well the things that struck me the last time i rode was how short it was, how you don't go through any working departments or sound stages anymore, and the pre recorded narration has taken loads out of the attraction.
they've also taken away the 'hot set' aspect of catastrophe canyon. instead of 'ACTION!!' - 'oh dear everyone, hold on tight, the director doesn't know we're in here!!' type of thing it's now 'this might be how we put together a scene like this'. it's taken the fun out of it.

props (taken from Wikipedia):

'When the tram leaves the building it brings guest through an outside area named the boneyard (named after an aircraft boneyard). In the boneyard are vehicles which were featured in many films. Props include the genuine steamroller used by Judge Doom during the climax of Who Framed Roger Rabbit, ships from the original Star Wars films, the duo motorcycles from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, the escape pod from The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, cars used in the Herbie the Love Bug films (the ex-parade vehicle Herbie was taken away from the All-Star Movies Resort [on account of children kept climbing on it] and is now on display here), bone cages from Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, The Spaceship from Flight of the Navigator and boats and other vehicles used in other Disney-produced films.'
