I have found it.

I'm going down in September, and have been counting the days now for months.

I knew however, that as soon as I got back, I would be completely depressed that the trip was over. So, I booked my next trip for February of 2005. Sure, it's going to set me back a bit, but we all know it's worth it.

I should have that trip paid for by the end of November. What next - Book the next trip, and start paying that one off. That's the way to go. As soon as one is paid off, book the next and start over again.

This way, I should always have that next trip to look forward to.

I'm a very happy person, temporarily cured of PDD.

I think the biggest form of "post-Disney-Depression" is right after your trip, like on the way back, and when you first get home. Planning another trip helps in the long run, but it's still sad when you first re-enter reality from WDW visit. I think the best way to cure THAT is to, before you go on the trip, plan something fun to do/go when you first get home from the trip, like a visit to a local amusement park like Six Flags the next day. That way you have something to look forward to on the way home.

HA - I'm going with my girlfriend, and her son and mother. Not gonna have much quality alone time.

In addition to my trip in February, I'll have a little something else to look forward to coming home this time.

Another general thing to do is to become exited and interested, perhaps obsessed, with someting else in the real world. What? How? You can get into a social/political cause! I discovered this by accident by getting into animal rights, and now I'm more obsessed with it than Disney! Click here for more info, and the 12-minute video that changed my life! Thankfully, we are, slowly but surely, eliminating this abuse by improving these conditions, thanks to the millions of people putting pressure on the industry by not supporting it!

What I do is pretend to book a trip and not give then any information to pay. Either that or watch the trip planing video over and over again. I make pretend trips every day even though I am going in a couple of months.

WOW. Someone has an agenda, don't they? :hammer: :brick: You know what will change my life right about now? A 16oz Prime Rib, medium rare. :slurp:

Spreading propoganda here is a big no-no.

Anyways, back on the subject...

My own personal method of fighting Disney depression is to bring some Disney
into my life. I have hours and hours worth of audio and video that I have recorded from WDW, not to mention thousands of photos I took. I like to page through all of that information. At work, I like to listen to these files whenever possible, and my desktop wallpaper is usually one of the photos I took. Stuff like this takes me away from my daily job and puts me right in the middle of the action at WDW.

If you check out the #Disney-Central thread over in the Multimedia forum, you can get your own collection of goods. There are hundreds if not thousands of sounds and videos available for download.

What about pre-disney depression? It's when you look forward to going so much that time just creeps by like a snail. The only thing i can figure is to sleep until it's time to go! lol.

I completely agree with Chape19714, as there is post disney depression there is pre disney depression as well when you just sit thinking that you will go on this date and time just appears to move quite slow. Me and my girl friend went there 2 yrs back and I still remember that the time we planned the trip to the time we reached there, the whole day the idea used to rotate my mind. The best way to get over it I think is not do any pre planning and just go on when you feel like.

i work on my scrapbook very slowly. it takes me abut 3 months to complete :-D

Working on my previous trips scrapbook helps me too! Takes me a long time to finish as well.

I also love having a trip to look forward to - that's the way to do it. But if I don't, I listen to Disney CD's, watch some Disney movies, and come to these boards incessantly.

This is an oldie. Well, best cure for post-Disney depression is to plan the next trip.

I've had a different form of pre-Disney worries (Won't call it depression). When you are just about to go and you realize that a week (or 8 days, or whatever) from now it will all be over. If you're like me, you've been slowly building the excitement, and now just on the cusp of it, you start to worry about it being over too soon!

Not the worst problem in the world to have. And I deal with it by trying to remember that and savor the moments.

Still, sometimes for a flash, ...
