CS Video: The Creators of Disney•Pixar's Brave
With the latest Disney•Pixar destined-to-be-another-classic animated movie Brave about to be released nationwide, ComingSoon.net had a chance to talk to some of the creators behind the movie including director Mark Andrews, who recently co-wrote and did 2nd unit directing on fellow Pixar alum Andrew Stanton's John Carter, producer Katherine Sarafian who has been at Pixar Animation from the beginning, as well as Pixar and Disney Animation head honcho John Lasseter.
Andrews and Sarafian talked about how the movie came about, how Mark tapped into doing a movie about a teen girl and whether they realized they were making a movie more like a classic Disney fairy tale than the typical Pixar movie. They also talked about dealing with the Scottish accents and making it understandable for Americans, something we also discussed with voice actors Kelly Macdonald and Kevin McKidd.
As an added bonus, here's our interview with Pixar and Disney Animation Chief Creative Officer John Lasseter, where we asked some of the same questions about the origins of the project and why it fits in more with classic Disney fairy tales than the usual Pixar movies, as well as overcoming technical challenges in animation. For those of you who have been hoping for, even demanding, The Incredibles 2, we did try to ask Lasseter if that might ever happen, but he shot us down. Boooo…
Disney•Pixar's Brave opens across North America in Disney 3D and 2D on June 22. You can watch our interviews with actors Kelly Macdonald and Kevin McKidd here.
