I kind of agree on the no-character option thing. I love the characters as does DS7 but he's been going since he was 10m old and, this last trip in March, it was obvious he thinks he's getting too old for Pooh and friends. We still love going because we love the atmosphere, the breakfast food and the fact that if you get an early enough ADR you can get in before the park opens (nothing like that walk down Mainstreet with no one else there) but... I'd not be adverse to at least switching them out. That's kind of selfish though. :)

It would have to be absolutely free for us to ever go there again. My husband had been living on MRE's from the Army for 15 months so it's not that we cannot be pleased but our one and only experience there was A NIGHTMARE!!! You were lucky to be seated on time, cudos for that, but had you been seated when lunch was over and dinner was served your opinon would be much different as you would have been directed to the leftover lunch crumbs they hadn't scrapped into the trash yet. CP has no problem with throwing you the old scraps and expecting you to be appreciative to get anything but when it's over an hour after your ressie and you have hungry children you might just go for anything. CP is like eating out of a dumpster in my opinon and after we paid over $130 for 2 Mickey Waffles, and if you think Disney listens you are fooling yourself. I took pics of our experience and filed a complaint with Disney and never heard a word. Good for you but don't build up other's expectations as it might just go sideways on them as it did for us, we are jealous you had an great experience but it was just luck.
Eep! We just booked a character breakfast there! I really don't want to be disappointed...

Go to 'Ohana, we've had great experiences every time there. I just know it was horrible standing around in the 90+ degree heat for over an hour and was just not worth it, never say never, but for us, never again. Being military we have a lot of friends other places that vacation here in FL and we always tell them not to go to go to CP, one family did and they texted me from the park saying they just wished they'd listened, they are not big on the food but wanted the character interaction and said it was the worst ever!

I think everyone should try CP for themselves, you either love it or hate it. I personally have never had a bad meal there and love the atmosphere. I wouldn't base not going on someone else's experience try it for yourself you may live it eh you may not but at least you can come to your own conclusion and you won't miss out on the experience.

I've already booked the CP dinner for our first day we're there! :D It's quite early (4:40 PM), but oh well. I've always loved going to the Crystal Palace. The food is brilliant, the characters are always fun to be around when they get to your table, and the make-your-own ice cream is sooo good. :)
