Crystal Palace

Hey folks, took the family to MK today and ate at Crystal Palace for lunch. As usual, it was superb! If you haven't tried it you really should.

I recommend lunch over dinner. It is about $10 cheaper per person and has almost the same selection of food. It is of course a buffet, albeit a very high quality buffet. The salads were great, vegetable selection was diverse, and meats were roasted chicken, ham, and strip steak. The latter two were at the cutting station.

The desserts were also fabulous. Apple cobbler, chocolate cake, and an apple bread pudding that was to die for.

Oh and the Pooh characters are always charming. We got each of them twice at our table.

Overall great experience. Love the food and getting away from the heat, crowds, and rain! MAKE RESERVATIONS IN ADVANCE!

Was disappointed by our breakfast buffet there two trips ago. The food was okay, and it was kind of cold to be honest. But then we've had two great breakfasts there, but that was over 6 or 7 years ago.

Glad to hear you enjoyed it! We have lunch there every year and have never been disappointed. They have a good variety and the characters are fun. Only problem is, even with an ADR, you can have a bit of a wait to be seated.
What she said X2!!!!!!!!! I'm so glad it's as good as I remember it! I have a birthday lunch for my ds there every trip! Can't even begin to tell you how much we always love it and it wouldn't be a trip without going there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Crystal Palace is easily our favorite buffet on property but we prefer it for breakfast. I could live on Pooh's French Toast if given the chance! LOL! :D That said, we did do it for lunch once and I agree it was absolutely yummy! We just tend to avoid big meals for lunch and save them for breakfast/dinner to round out the day.

It would have to be absolutely free for us to ever go there again. My husband had been living on MRE's from the Army for 15 months so it's not that we cannot be pleased but our one and only experience there was A NIGHTMARE!!! You were lucky to be seated on time, cudos for that, but had you been seated when lunch was over and dinner was served your opinon would be much different as you would have been directed to the leftover lunch crumbs they hadn't scrapped into the trash yet. CP has no problem with throwing you the old scraps and expecting you to be appreciative to get anything but when it's over an hour after your ressie and you have hungry children you might just go for anything. CP is like eating out of a dumpster in my opinon and after we paid over $130 for 2 Mickey Waffles, and if you think Disney listens you are fooling yourself. I took pics of our experience and filed a complaint with Disney and never heard a word. Good for you but don't build up other's expectations as it might just go sideways on them as it did for us, we are jealous you had an great experience but it was just luck.

I'm really glad to see this thread actually, as I was debating whether to make an ADR for Crystal Palace (our ADR day is less than a week away now :D).
We'll be travelling with a 2 year old, so trying to figure out if we're better doing breakfast or lunch. We're already planning 2 character breakfasts at Chef Mickey's and Hollywood and Vine (we got a free DDP ;)).

This is a must do especially for little ones! If you're already doing 2 breakfasts do lunch or dinner at the CP.

Excellent, thank you :) The menus for lunch and dinner look great- something a bit different from the usual buffet assortment!
I can tell it's been too long since I've been to WDW- I'm in sensory overload at all of the food options, especially having the DDP. I sit in bed at night with my iPad, and trawl through all the menus (poor husband haha!) ;)

I think that if I didn't book an pre-park opening breakfast ADR for our traditional first full day, must be Magic Kingdom, my missus would divorce me. She absolutely loves to stroll down a practically deserted Main Street.

There's nothing quite like home, even a second home.

We went for dinner and it was an easy decision as worst tasting meal of our entire trip. The food as a whole was bland and did not come anywhere close to the rave reviews.
That being said, we also had one of the best waitstaff experiences during our trip, DD loved the Pooh parade, DWs fave character is Pooh Bear so all the character interactions were worth it.
Overall for me, I will give it another shot, for breakfast only however, but expectations will not be as high as the hype.

As 3 adults, we've eaten there many times and have always enjoyed a wonderful meal! I like an early breakfast so we can enter the park without many (if any) others around for great pictures.

Overpriced buffet but that is the Disney way. Food was good but there is no way I could eat my money's worth.
