Chef Mickey was my first choice, but it's impossible to get reservations there. So we were able to get a table at the Crystal Palace for breakfast. What can we expect? I know it's a buffet, but I didn't see a specific description online of what they serve.

It changes...but when I went I remember seeing:

Chicken nuggets
Green beans (they were really good)
Salad
Pasta salad
Edamame salad (yum)
Roasted chicken
Mashed potatoes
Carving station
Soft serve ice cream machines
Cookies
Pastries

There was more but that's all I can remember!

EDIT: Duh - you said breakfast. Move it along - nothing to see here...

They have the standard breakfast foods that you would find on any buffet. They also have puffed french toast in the kids section that is delicious! You have to try the breakfast lasagna too!

POOH'S PUFFED FRENCH TOAST. crystal palace is a must-do for dh and i every time we're at disney. breakfast features an omelette station, bacon/sausage, pastries, what passes for bagels, cold cereals, fruit, oatmeal, breakfast lasagna, potatoes, and puffed french toast. i usually eat puffed french toast until i can't see. it's like puffy french toast, fried, rolled in cinnamon sugar. i have no idea how many calories it is, but i really don't care at all because it's that good.

This ^^^ We are big fans of the buffets for breakfast at Disney. (not so much for dinner) and CP is one of our favs. Between Pooh's Puffed French Toast (actually reminds me of funnel cake), breakfast lasagna and omelette station, you can't go wrong. We also love Chef Mickey's for breakfast, but food offerings are a tad better at CP

We had breakfast at CP in July. Everything was delicious. Our grandson loved meeting all of the Pooh characters. We are definitely going back next year. :)

Did both breakfast buffets last trip. Food was average breakfast fare at both, but presented better at Chef Mickey's. The character interactions felt rushed at both places, but my kids enjoyed the friendship parade at Crystal Palace much more than the dance party at Chef Mickey's. You can see the Fab Five in other places throughout the park BUT Pooh bear and friends are harder to come by. Chef mickey's had better dessert, but it was breakfast so take that with a grain of salt (or sugar). The ambience is nicer, fancier, quieter in Crystal Palace. Chef Mickey - you get to take a monorail ride vs. Cyrstal Palace when you're done you are already in the park.

I'd say Crystal Palace has the slight edge

Crystal Palace breakfast has become one of my families favorite meal reservation spots. We have eaten breakfast, lunch, and dinner there but there is something special about starting the day at the Crystal Palace. The food is somewhat expected in a broad assortment of traditional breakfast foods, which are very good by the way. What has set it apart for us are the character greet opportunities, the cast members, and maybe getting into the park a little early. We already love the ambiance of this place and early in the day just seems to enhance it. The price is cheaper than the other meals and if you don't get full it's your own fault. Have a magical time!!!

Get a reservation before the park opens. You can walk down an empty Main Street and get some pretty good photos. As far as the food, I would say its good, but nothing to write home about. I love how it's with the Winnie The Pooh characters because it's really hard to find them without waiting in a long line.

Food-wise, we LOVE the Crystal Palace....at least for breakfast. It's one of our "must do" places on each trip. We've tried a dinner buffet there once too and its lacking. I wish they'd change up which characters appear there, however, as it gets old with it just being Pooh, Tigger, and Eyore all the time. As far as Chef Mickey's goes, we've tried that once and weren't overly impressed. There are far too much more yelling children underfoot and in the way for my liking, and the food was just about the same as at any other buffet.
