Crush's Interaction attraction

Hey Guys,

Just wondering how the interaction attraction between the audience and Crush works. Apparently, in the stitch one in DLRP, he takes a picture on his 'animated' camera on screen of a person in the audience and then it shows up the picture on the 'animated' camera.. How do they do that? I think its very good! How can they listen to peoples voice. Is it voice recognition or is it someone behind the scenes talking?

Regards,

Tristan

Yeah, I believe it's real-time animation with someone talking behind the screen. Every action will have been pre-programmed and linked to the proper animation, including the audience interaction parts.

I read somewhere that the language used for these is Squeak, a smalltalk based (now open sourced) language that is very very good at event-driven programs. This is because it is a pure object oriented language and can handle immediate changes in state very well (I used it for investment banking applications). This makes sense as the operator can choose how to animate the character at the drop of a hat, AND new routines can be constructed and installed very quickly.

This is all obviously from the perspective of not working inside Turtle Talk though :)
