Has anyone ever cruised in August? Currently have a June cruise booked but my friend is a teacher and due to massive amounts of snow here in North Jersey, it looks like we will have to reschedule. July does not work due to other commitments we both have, so it looks like August is our only option. I'm nervous. Help!!

August isn't as busy for hurricanes as September. Prices will be better than July, too. It'll be hot as Hades but unless you go late fall, winter, or early spring that's what it'll prob'ly be like anyway. Y'all will have a fabulous time. So sorry about your snow. I can't even imagine.... I wore shorts today!

Thank you for calming my anxiety! We are getting together Thursday to call Disney and reschedule everything. I was having panic attacks thinking we will be sailing with a hurricane but you made me feel better!

Also, I think it's worth pointing out that the crews and equipment are always improving so that the captain can avoid as much of the storm as possible. Even if there is a storm, it's usually possible to go around, even if means missing a port. You might have some rough seas, but it's very unlikely that you'll ever get the brunt of a storm.

Normally, when my friends say something like this, my response is R-rated. You're lucky this is a Disney forum :p

Cruised a Dream five nighter the first week in August 2012. I guess that "hot" is relative to what you're used too.

Even when the boat was docked the sea breeze kept us comfortable. CC was practically perfect with the warm water and I don't think any of us broke a sweat the entire trip.

Thanks for that! I've been to Disney twice in August so I know what hot can be. I'll make sure to drink lots of fluids and keep sunscreen handy. I'm looking forward to going even if it might be sweltering! Glad there's hope of it being not so bad! :)

That will help me sleep at night. Keep comparing this upcoming cruise to the Titanic.. haha guess I need a new frame of reference. And I agree with the R-rated response. I wish I was wearing shorts right now! Two feet of snow expected tonight and tomorrow.. ugh winter! You're killing me! :(
