I will be going for a long weekend -Saturday January 27 to Tuesday January 30-I wondered how crowds were this time? And how to pack? Cold? Warm? Leggings? Shorts? Coat? LOL

Thanks!

Before moving to Florida, we spent quite a few vacations at WDW beginning at that exact same time. The crowds are generally less between New Year's and President's Day weekend in February. As far as weather, think 70 for a high and 50 for a low, although those numbers can be higher or lower.

Quite a number of people in the Orlando area have Annual Passes, and their decision to visit the parks is often made at the last minute depending on the weather. So crowds might swell a bit over the weekend if temperatures are headed toward the high 70s, and with more moderate lows.

I always remind people that with more than 30,000 rooms on property, there is always a base of visitors eager to spend time in the park.

Your going during NFL Pro Bowl Weekend BE PREPARED!....While it was recently moved from Honolulu to Orlando last year I decided not to go due to this as I have normally go around this time and when they moved the game to Florida I was a bit worried on how crowds would effect this as they do use ESPN Wild World of Sports https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/b...ceive-vip-treatment-at-the-2018-nfl-pro-bowl/

Just Be Advised it will be busy out there during that time up until the 28th when the Game happens and then there will be the left over guests that are still there...I am coming Just a day after all this is over...But, just to show you what happens here is what happens during Last Years Pro Bowl events in the Resort..

Expect weather to be cooler in mornings and late evenings. Warmer climates start reaching about mid-day. A Light jacket and gloves if it does get windy, rainy and cold. But, going around this time it's like "Early Spring" depending on where your coming from.:)

We go every January, and we've been noticing the crowds getting heavier and heavier on weekends over the years. Better than during New Years, but not as good as during midweek in the winter.

As far as the weather...check the forecast before you go. It's Florida: it could be 80, it could be 40, or it could be somewhere in between, but the odds are it will be dry as it rains far less in winter than summer.

Have a good trip!

My advice for January is go weekdays vs weekends/MLK Jr Holiday.
Also be warned, tons of tour groups from South America are in full swing in January to early February before gradually dying down all together at the end of February. Also do take note Brazil goes back to school at the end of January but may/may not have a week of for Carnival, and Argentina goes back at the end of February.

Also note they have cheerleading competitions around this time. And large groups come from all over to participate. And of course their families come as well. Just another event that keeps the parks busy.

January is definitely getting busier than in the past, but it's still not too bad. It's mostly just busy by comparison to the mid- to late-2000s. Even when it's packed the weather is typically great. It can vary widely (from the 50s to the low 80s for highs), but you can't really go wrong. We've been there a bunch of times in January and never had bad weather. Even if it rains, that means the parks are less crowded. The tricky part is packing since you don't know for sure. Layers are good - definitely bring jackets even if the highs are in the 70s. It will get cool at night.

Been there when the temp was 38, been there when the temp was 78. Your best guess will be to look at the extended forecast for Orlando as late as you can before you go and hope for the best.
As for the crowds if you avoid the "event" weekends you will probably find the crowds much lower than mid-summer, but I think low crowd days are a thing of the past.
