Our family is planning a trip January 26, 2006 for 9 days, can anyone tell me what the crowds and weather is like during this time in Disney World. We've only been to Disney in early December, October, May and June so we are not sure of the crowds and weather for January. Thanks for any info.:lookaroun

Last year we went around January 16th for 12 days. The weather is erratic. It can be 30 degrees one day and 50-60 the next. I was in a t-shirt most of the time (wife and son dressed in sweatshirts a lot). There were a couple of days where we needed jackets.
Having said that the same week the weather in the Boston area was -20-30 degrees and there was a blizzard. Even at the coldest in WDW it was 40-60 degrees warmer than home. Honestly, if you are used to the weather in the Northeast in the winter January in WDW is nice aznd NO blizzards (except at Blizzard Beach).
We ended up having to stay an extra 2 nights because of Logan Airport being closed due to snow. The morning we were originally supposed to check out the concierge staff at AKL left us a thank letter. In the letter they conveniently list the WDW forecast with 0% chance of precipitation and the Boston weather forecast with 100% chance of snow.

I am glad you asked! I am thinking of doing a long weekend trip (again) in January with my Mom. I lived in Tampa for a while and the weather is just hit or miss, like said above. Just keep an eye out for the weather and bring a couple long sleeve shirts.

I am interested in seeing what the crowds are like?!?

I was there in mid-January '03 and '04...both time the week before MLK Jr. Day.

In '03, I was only there 2 days and was able to do every attraction in all 4 parks I was interested in...'04 was 3 days at disney, 1 at islands of adventure. At IOA, I had ridden everything (many 4-5 times) by 1PM.

One year, the weather was a high around 40, the next year, highs around 65. There will always be some waits at MK, but only once did I wait longr than 15 minutes...nothing more than 5 minutes at any other park.

We were there Jan 5-15th 2005. Weather was great every day... 80's and sunny, no rain. Though, before and after our trip, it was cold and rainy. So weather in January can be hit or miss.

Traffic in the parks looks decent for when you're going. Peak time standby times of about 45 minutes for headliner attractions at MK according to touringplans.com... which can be avoided with FastPass and going at park opening. I think that'd be the maximum times (approx.), and that you'll have waits of far less. On our trip we were there at opening and we walked onto all of Fantasyland attractions right off the bat.
