as a complete newbie that is trying to do things right on the forum - can I ask how busy mid to late October is going to be?
We have been many times but never at that time of year ..... also I thought there was a date before which you couldn't do the priority seating thing - or was that just years ago when I last visited?

one more question ...... how am I meant to wait the 140+ days till my trip?? grin .... this has to be the only family where the mother is more overexcited than the children?

and how upset am I ... no Small World during our trip ... geesh I want a discount ... sob

:sohappy: I'm so happy small world will be closed during our trip next month. I will be able to keep tha crazy song out of my head. As far as going in October, it's probably the second best time of year to visit because crowds are lighter than usual and you don't have to "beat the heat." Even though the park close a little earlier, don't let it prevent you from having a great time!:slurp:

Late October shouldn't be too busy. Avoid Columbus Day, and Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party on Halloween night.

You can make Priority Seatings 90 days out.

Have fun!

Welcome joannas:wave:

We were also very sad about IASW being closed on our trip. To pass the time, we watched the planning DVD, read the vacation guides, sang songs. All sorts of stuff. We made our plans before Christmas and it's finally almost here. We have 8 days left until we leave. :sohappy: Have a great time during your trip in Oct.:D

Mid to late October

This is my first reply to any post so...here I go.

I was on my honeymoon last year the week of Columbus Day. Boy was it crowded. I have been several times during the year and it was busy. I spoke with a Cast Member at the Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween Party and he said the first 2 weeks of October were more crowded than it was in the entire month of July.

Thank God we left the following Sunday because the International Wine festival started. By the time my husband and I had lunch in Germany at 12 noon and walked to Test Track people were already drunk and the Test Track Fast Passes were already all given out!

It might just have been that one day but it was crazy!

at least we are squeezed in between those busy first two weeks Oct and the Halloween end! We're going to be there 19th to 26th ;o) and counting ......

No problem. Columbus Day this year is on October 11th. So the week of October 8th (a Friday) till October 17th (a Sunday) will be busy. But there are having the International Wine Festival there I heard all of October into Novermber this year. It gets really busy on the weekends during the festival. It is really nice, but tons of drinking is going on all over Epcot. Me...I will be down there in November this year and I will stay out of Epcot on the weekends during the festival!!!

Hope you have a great trip!

And good luck!

I have to tell you...My husband and i just bought our Disney Vacation Club - Timeshare and we are already planning our trips with it. We have no kids as of yet but we can't wait to share Disney with them. We have 2 count downs going this year.

We are going on May 24th so only 9 days till we are there and then we are going again on November 24th only 194 days till we are there again.

We are also planning our trip for next year when we bring my nieces with us. We are really looking forward to that. (They are 3 and 2) We are so excited.

Have a great trip!

Late October should be perfect, but all the parks will close relatively early.
Pretty sure Epcot will still be open till 9 p.m.
If you want to do something after that, head to Pleasure Island, a collection of nightclubs etc. that stays open till 2 p.m.

I can't answer if you're the only mother more excited than the children, but I know I used to be a father more excited than my boys. (perhaps the fact that i started taking them when they were less than 1 had something to do with that.)

In the meantime, I'm counting down to a late July trip, and trying to wait to organize the "official" family planning meeting!

Welcome to the boards

You are not alone in missing IASW! I am really going to miss it on this trip. I am the Disneyaholic in our family and I am the one who constantly brings up the subject...on the way to school while listening to Radio DIsney, over supper while browsing through Passporter, here, there, everywhere....I was more excited than the kids, but they have caught the excitement!
