Crowds May 1-9??

Given all the news about recent record attendence anyone have any "inside" info on the crowds for May?? We go in May every year because the crowds generally are light, but I just checked touringplans and they have everyday as an 8, which seems very high for May.

I have been following touringplans too, for my May trip. They are typically pretty accurate so we are preparing for 8 & 9's. I know May isn't normally that bad, but everyone has been chalking it up to the 4/3 promotion.

I read somewhere that May 1 is DHS's 20th Anniversary.

I have gone the last three years that week and touring plans never had it above a 6 - so something is up.

We were at WDW over the 4th of July last year and it was packed but we never had any problems getting into the parks. I wonder if the 4/3 deal is what is making the closures more frequent?

Touringplans is the website companion to the Unofficial Guide. They do a crowd prediction blog and calendar. I've found mixed results with accuracy.

Since the 4/3 promotion is going into the summer (which they NEVER give summer discounts) I would expect June to be more crowded than normal (like May), but not to closure level. That's very rare.

I agree - it will be fun regardless! Bigger crowds hopefully means more characters will be out and that's my favorite part anyways. Last time I was there I didn't see many!

Bigger crowds can also mean extended hours

Thanks everyone....like most of you said....it's going to be fun no matter what...was just curious since we have gone 3 of the last 4 years always the first week of May and touringplans usually has it at a 6 every day....8 was a little scary....
