This may already be a thread...but i didn't want to search for it. Has anyone ever been to WDW the final week of September? that's when my girlfriend and i are going. This will be my 29th time to the resort and her 4th time. We are hoping that it will be somewhat "dead" since most kids will be back in school and the summer is over.....

We went last month and we both said, "Never Again!". We got so used to the low crowds in late August/Early September that anything else seems way over-crowded. I remember in September last year being able to do all the rides we like in MK by lunch. And we were able to lazily walk around Epcot without having to dodge people left and right like last month.
Now don't get me wrong, the weather is HOT and HUMID!!! But I don't mind because you get to cool off in the rides and I always bring along my personal fan that totally helps. Plus, since you can do the parks much faster you have more time to take a dip at the pool or nap in the air conditioning of your hotel! You are also taking a chance with a hurricane. We were there once for one and it wasn't as bad as you would think since the buildings are very safe and there is always electricity. From now on, even with the weather, it's September all the way!

The crowds won't be bad at all. January is the best time to go right after Christmas and New Year's because everyone goes between the two:xmas: I went last year in January and waited less then 5 min.for any ride.

I think your January experience was unique to last season -- the year before it was positively packed during January. A lot of colleges don't go back to school until mid January in different parts of the country. If people go this January, of course, please do report!

I have never found late September to be that hot and humid at WDW - but then I am from horrendous Michigan where the entire summer and fall are humid and Florida feels like a breath of fresh air. Nothing like a University of Michigan football game on a September saturday when it is 90 degrees and humidity is 80 percent...Give me Florida any day.

It is the absolute best time to go to WDW -- there are no crowds at that time and it is considered WDW's "dead month"...that is, nobody pulls their kids out of school during the first three weeks of classes -- I go at this time every single year. It is incomperable to those crowded peak periods. But shhh...don't let the cat out of the bag, everyone else will want to go at that time too.

By the way, the reason they run the free Dining Plan promotional for that time of year is to try to increase the attendance. In my experience, that promotional does nothing to increase the number of people there during that month -- but it does give those of us who go every time in September free food on top of no crowds.

Pardon me while I smooch you for this info...we've been planning this week forever!
