Hi Everyone

I will be going to WDW from the 1st Jan - 20th Jan, I was wondering what are the crowds going to be like the first week I am there? will people still be there on their Christmas Holidays or will they be back home by then.

Thanks.

Mark

P.S I will be running the WDW marathon when I am there so if anyone would like to sponsor me in aid of the MS Society you can do it by clicking HERE

I'll be there the 3rd through the 8th! Maybe I'll *see* you there. I won't be running the marathon, though, I'm way too lazy:wave:

I'm curious to find out about crowd levels, too! I'm hoping it won't be too crowded!

That first week after New Years will probably still have a healthy park crowd, with most kids still being out of school. Once school and work resumes, the parks should thin a bit. The last time I was there in January (couple years ago) it was around the 20th and by then the parks were slower.

There will be people left over from the Holiday period (We're going for NYE, and staying for the rest of the week for example), but it is no where near as bad as that peak period. January 1st tends to be a little busy, but as the week progresses, the crowds taper off. I think lots of people want to be there on on New Years day, but head home on the 2nd.

We've been doing this week for 6 years now, and the crowds tend to be a little different, depending on what day NYE falls on. I hope that made sense   It depends on when the schools restart as well.

I've never been during the Marathon, but it sounds like a somewhat busy weekend. But I would like to reiterate: It will not be as bad at Christmas and NYE week!

Have fun!

Well, I was going to ask a similar question, so I may as well post it here. The travel sites and books I've seen generally say the tail end of January is slow. I'm planning on a possible trip the last week of January / first week of February. Is that a good time?

The crowds should calm down on the 4th or 5th most people head home after the new year. We usually go the 2nd week in Jan and it the crowds are not bad. Have a great trip.
