Crowds In August

Can anyone tell me about the crowds in August? When is it most crowded/least crowded...We usually go in February or July and are very familiar w/crowds at that time of year. Thanks for any info.:animwink:

I see you are going in early August. It's crowded, I won't lie, but you've seen the crowds before, so expect same old, same old. July and early August are very similar (as is Presidents Week in February...though about 20º cooler )

crowds diminish quickly as the month goes on. Checking MK park hours is a good gauge of expected crowds at all the parks (the other parks don't really vary their park hours based on crowds, so MK is the best measure). When the MK is open til 11 pm or 12 am, like in the summer, crowds are in full force. When the park closes at 8 or 9 pm, crowds are lighter.

we went last august,,,18-25 and it was great! the parks were too crowed at all. You have to expect some, it is disney after all!

We met mostly people from Europe at that time. I have always gone that late in the summer ( I love the heat) I can't imagine going any other time!

we were able to do everything, that wasn't being refurbished of course! :animwink:

We used to go in August, the beginning is just as crowded as July, we switched & started going at the end of August & it was much better. Of course there are some crowds but not like in July. We are back to going for 2 weeks in July now & we couldn't believe the crowds last year. It was just crazy! But alas we're going back for the same 2 weeks this year!! We just can't stay away!! :lol:

We went for the last 2 weeks in August 2004 and then the last 2 weeks in July 2005. It was much less crowded at the end of August. Even so, get to the parks at opening, enjoy the most popular rides with little or no wait, and then go back to the hotel for a swim and go back in the evening. We followed this both summers and got through att the parks twice! We are visiting again this year 8/26. Disney handles crowds very well so you will still have a wonderful time! Take full advantage of FAST PASS!!! :wave:

Since a lot of schools go back at the end of August, it is far less crowded the later in August you go. I believe Value Season for some of the resorts starts then too, but the parks also close earlier.

:lol: Crowds are bad in August, you have gone in July so it;s about the same. It gets a little better as month goes on but not a whole lot. It gets really bad on labor Day weekend. 6 weeks until I go can't wait:fork:

O that makes me so happy to hear this, because I was a little worried myself, but now that everyone is saying that it's less crowded, all I can do is smile!! :lol:
