Crowds - early July

I realize that the heavy summer season begins after Bastille Day, but how are crowds in early July? Looks like we are going to miss Wishes and Fantillusion, which is our bummer.

Through this excellent group, we've picked a hotel (Newport Bay - we own at BCV at WDW, so it wasn't much of a stretch) and now just have to do some detailed planning.

How do people generally book their hotels; we are used to either calling the DIsneyWorld CRO or using Expedia. Expedia seems to be more expensive than using the DisneylandParis.Com web site.

Anyone have any good experiences with either?

Ended up just calling the reservations number, and booked at the Newport Bay Admiral's floor

In Germany the package prices are the same if you book at CRO or the local travel agent.

You mentioned expedia...do they have room only rates for NPBC or so?
