Crowds after Christmas

How bad are the crowds during the week of Christmas to new years? my fiance and i were thinking of going with my parents and that's the only time my dad has off. we want to know if it'd be worth going or if the crowds would be horrible.

I have never been during this time, but I hear that it is one of the busiest times of the year at WDW. :wave:

last dec. we went the week before last year and it wasn't bad.We were thinking about seeing if my dad could go on vacation sooner. Do the crowds get worse as you get closer to christmas? The week before they were almost dead. lol

We did Christmas/New Year 2008 and had a ball. YES - it is busy, but we planned for busy, got to the parks at rope drop or for EMH and did as much as we could before it got too busy and used FP wherever possible. Our ADRs were booked at 180 days.
New Years Eve and New Years Day were extremely busy - but who cares - it Christmas and its Disney

Last year, we went to Disney World the week after Christmas but before New Years Eve. It was ridiculously busy. But of course it was fun.

we've gone at x-mas and new years the last 2 years. yeah it's really crowded but if you take advantage of EMH and fast passes you can get a lot done easly in the morning before it gets too bad. and usually when it get's real busy we head back to the resort, rest a little bit, eat then head back to another park. oh and the both times, we went to MK on new years day and there was nobody their until around noon. so expect it to be busy but it's one of the best times to go in my opinion. hope i helped you out some:sohappy:

I knew someone who decided to go during Christmas week. This was there first trip with the kids to the world as well. Turns out they said they would never go again. They could not handle the crowds. I know personally I could not handle it but that is just me.

A beautiful time of the year to visit the World, but even better BEFORE
Christmas and/or the beginning of January . The crowds are unbelievable and patience is a MUST. We now attend the first week of December yearly and enjoy everything without the massive crowds. But if this is the only time your dad can attend then go and enjoy the beauty of the parks and decorations. :wave: :xmas:

thanks everyone.I`m trying to see if my dad could get off the week before to go. either way i think we`d have fun. the last time my parents went was 06 and we only did MK and DAK.I apperciate the responses everyone.
