Crowd Question

There has been a lot of talk lately about crowds and with March all but gone and fresh on the minds of many in this forum, I thought I would join in with a question.

Would you prefer/suggest to go during Mid March or the end of May (including one or two days of June)?

I know several things:
1. May is cheaper on resort rates (big plus for deluxe rates)
2. March is Spring Break for many schools (seemed really bad this year)
3. Memorial day weekend is crowded (I'm sure it can be brutal)
4. May would be warmer (we enjoy the water parks)

Are the Memorial Day crowds mostly confined to the weekend (Fri, Sat and Memorial Day Mon.) and mostly consist of Fla. residents?

I would take March over May, but would avoid Memorial Day weekend. I'm in Disney every year in mid-march, and it's been getting more and more crowded each year. The weather this past year was only cooler at night - it was in the 80's everyday. So the water parks I think you could do in March or May.

But like you said, the resorts have lower prices in May and other than Memorial Day weekend the crowds will generally be smaller. So I'd say May. :)

We love May (especially early May), but haven't been able to book a visit there in a few years due to schools, job commitments, etc.

Memorial Day weekend is crowded from what we have experienced and seems to pick up on the Thursday before the holiday. But not quite as bad as spring break and/or mid-July or Christmas. And the Tuesday after is generally pretty calm. . Early June is generally a pretty low-attendance time.

It can be humid in May so it will probably be perfect swimming weather!

I'm hoping you meant May over March but nonetheless, we may not be able to avoid Memorial Day weekend but thought 3 days of crowds would still be better than srping break crowds lasting the whole week.

This is what I have been hearing not only from recent posts but also friends who have just returned from "spring break" trips.

I'm leaning heavily towards May right now, there is money to be saved despite having to deal with Memorial Weekend crowds.

This is what I was thinking/hoping the case would be for that time. If I can chose between crowds for a week and crowds for a few days...I'm going with May.

I've been both times of the year in the past. In my experience, May will be the better time to go. It won't be slow by any means, but it should be better than March.

Especially when compared to my trip 2 weeks ago. Crowds were horrible. :dazzle:
