Crowd Predictions After SWGE Opening

I know I'm in the minority, but I plan on booking a trip right before it opens, when we can get a more definitive date. I'm not a massive Star Wars fan, and while I'm excited for what they are adding I can wait some time to check it out after the crazy dies down. I would think for 3-6 months after it opens the whole resort is going to be almost at max capacity. MK already everyday is getting to be crazy, and people that are planning trips down for Galaxy's Edge will for sure at least visit 1-2 other parks I would assume while there, not taking into account DHS capacity closures which I would think are bound to happen.

Exactly my plan. I’m a little bummed though, as I had been planning on a February 2020 trip when my youngest will be four years old and less of a terror (in theory). Then they announced the SWGE dates and my heart sank....as that now seems like a fool’s errand to bring my brood into the crowds. (Our last trip was the week after New Years 2016 when lots of schools were still off...we had a great time but the wait times were awful). Anyhow - now I’m hoping to make it there before the opening, even though a fall trip isn’t that appealing to me with all the hard ticket events. What does everyone think...when Disney announces a timeline do they usually semi hit it? Seems unlikely to me that they could pull this off in 18 months...

I'm going to just sit back and read the insane news reports opening week. GL ya'all who choose to attempt to go. I have no interest in being packed into a billion person sardine can, sweaty, mad, and fighting.

If cold hard cash was not the number one through number 99 top priority .. Disney could surely do a slower opening, limiting crowds.

That way people have a chance to look around, and take it all in. Rather than wondering what nasty, moist (sorry allot of folks have some bad hygiene!) person just brushed up against you :)
