Crowd level end of jan/early feb

Hello All, I am ready to book another trip to the World at the end of Jan to early Feb (Jan 28th -Feb 5th) and wanted to know what to expect crowd wise. I noticed that part of that time they are offering free dining, and how that may effect the crowd level. I went in the middle of July and had to work
around the wonderful Brazilain tour groups, ha ha. I beat them to the punch by getting an early start each day. I probably will be staying at AKL, which
is great and you see no tour groups. Any tips for that time of year are most
appreciated. Last Feb. I did the horseback riding @ Ft. Wilderness and really liked it. I have already made my ADR's and got what I wanted except for Le Cellier (nothing avail. for dinner). Instead I booked the Yachtsman. Never
been there, your thoughts please!!!! Thanks again for your help!!!!

Oh, we'll just miss each other! We're going January 16th - 21st! We chose that time because it's supposedly fairly quiet as far as crowds go. This will be the first time I've gone during a non-peak season. From what I understand, the 2nd week of January until President's Day week in February is fairly quiet. The fact that there weren't any times available at Le Cellier concerns me, though. If it's such a quiet time, how come they are completely booked up already?! The tip that I have heard the most from others regarding going in January is that the weather is variable. Watch the weather channel before packing & bring clothes you can layer. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful! Enjoy your trip!

We've only been to WDW the end of January/first week in February and love that time of year there. The weather can be chilly, particularly at night but it's never been a problem. The crowd levels are usually very manageable and last time we saw the Brazillian tour groups but were able to stay out of their way. We'll be there from Jan.26-29th after our 1st Disney cruise! Have fun!

We'll be there then as well. I read somewhere that the last week in January usually has the lowest attendance of the year. Here's hoping. I tried to get a Le Cellier ADR online and couldn't. When I called Disney the CM said Le Cellier wasn't taking reservations yet. Sounds right considering we're still five months out.

I'm leaning toward that time frame for my next trip - my last 4 trips have been at Christmas, which is my absolute favorite time to be in the World. I'm looking at dealing with less crowded and cooler weather (Dec. '09 was in the high 80's:eek:)

Alas, I will probably have to wait until 2013 - I have 2 trips to the UK planned - one to Scotland leaving in 2 weeks, and one to London in May. The dollars only stretch so far!

It's a wonderful time to come! We're going in February next time and trying to decide how long. Last visit was 10 days, thinking 12 or 13 for upcoming visit.

We did almost this exact same trip this year (1/28-2/6)! It was a little cold: sometimes the overnight low was in the upper 40's, but the high temp was in the 70's. It's not a particularly rainy time of year and the crowds were very light. We also had free dining, so it won't necessarily affect the crowds too much.

I did see some Brazillian groups, but these particular ones weren't too troublesome. Your results may vary. Really the worst thing that could've happened was getting to a counter service restaurant at the same time they did, but were lucky and always got our food right before a big group came in. There was some kind of dance competition, too. I saw crazy lines one morning at bag check for DHS, but the dancers had their competition that morning and weren't out in the park.

In short: you'll have a great time!

I find it odd that you can't book at Le Cellier yet. We were able to make our reservations for character dinings a month ago & we are going the week before you! Why is Le Cellier different?

We've been there at that time and pretty much walked on everything. It's a great time to go if you're flexible about the weather. You can either be very comfortable or freeze your digits off. Bring dress for all seasons and check the weather forecast. As for the tour groups, when you see 'em, go the other way quickly. At that time of year, they can't possibly run the park like they do other months. And as for LeCell-it's always booked up but I know of many who couldn't get a ressie but walked up and got a table with just a bit of a wait. Worth a try if you really want to eat there. Have a great trip.
