Crowd Calendars?

Hello all!

How accurate are the websites that have Crowd Calendars? Specifically Undercover Tourist. We are planning on visiting Magic Kingdom on December 16th? On Undercover Tourist it is a red day. Are we going to be miserable?

Please help! :(

Thats because of the extra magic hours. Undertourist tends to tell people not to go during extra magic days. Touring Plans is more accurate and better to use if staying on property

Personally, Touring Plans has been the most accurate that I've used. Typically, that time in December is not bad at all crowd-wise. You can also check out this site which ranks the weeks to go. That week is listed as one of the best times to go out of the entire year, so I'd say you'll be in good shape!

I don't personally find that any of them are accurate, especially when they are trying to determine how busy a park is going to be based off of historical data. Everytime DW says a park is going to be the crowded one and we try a different park, it never fails that it is actually the opposite. It doesn't seem they account for outside factors like weather, or the fact that if they say the MK is the park to avoid on a certain day, and 15% of the people at WDW are going by that, then the other parks just got that much busier.

I've always wondered how a pre printed book knows whats gonna go on, on a certain day in a park. Just take into consideration when your going... So December would be a busier month then say January, so figure on a fair amount of folks in the parks and adjust your schedule accordingly. Come early, FP, etc.

We went last year at that time and it was not bad at all, you should be safe until about the Friday later that week when the Christmas rush starts coming. Go and enjoy.

We were in the MK on December 15th last year. We were only at WDW for a few days, that that was the only day that MVMCP was not taking place, so that was the day we wanted to go to the MK to stay for parades, fireworks, etc. Well obviously everyone had the same idea. Touring Plans predicted it as a 9.7 crowd day, and they were right. However, we got there at rope drop (it happened to be early EMH too) and between 8am and 10:30am, we got almost all of our favorite attractions done. As the throngs of people were arriving then, we left by monorail for brunch at Kona Cafe. And when we came back afterwards, we just took it slow, got FPs for a handful of rides, and enjoyed the atmosphere, parades, and fireworks mostly. Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that the reason that particular date in mid-December might get a higher crowd rating could be if it is the only day that the Xmas Party is not taking place for the few days before and afterwards.

I've found touring plans site to be fairly accurate. I use them as a guide, and other sites, to begin making my daily plans. BUT I always get park hopper passes so if I get to a park and find it busier than I was told I can adjust my plans and move on. It's better than showing up at Disney with no idea of what you are walking into. ;) Anything that can give me an advantage over the rest of the crowds is helpful and appreciated.
