Hi everyone

Has anyone been to the Crossroads area near Disney Springs? We'll probably be staying at Saratoga Springs, is it worth the walk/taxi ride for Brits who enjoy seeing some of the US outside of WDW but dont want to miss too much Disney time? We even love the Hess store, it doesn't take much to make us happy!

Thank you for any help and information you can give us.

I Have..Depending on the weather I would recommend taking a stroll down Hotel Blvd as it's about a 20min walk up to Crossroads...While it's really more Restaurants Than shops which are....

Mcdonald's
Buffalo Wild Wings
Chevy's
Uno Pizzaria
Fuddruckers
Firehouse Subs
Taco Bell
Perkins
Noodles & Company
TGIFridays
Johhnie's Hideaway
Goodings Grocery Store
Pirates Cove Mini Golf...

While your on that side, if you go to your right down about a block you will find this building next to a Waffle House that houses the standard Run-of-the-mill Florida Gift Shops called Giftland Souviners...

Oh, I totally agree. Going *anywhere* off property at Disney World is just more fun -- even at the gas station, lol. So yes, for me it is totally worth it.

We walked across the street and over to the Hess Gas station a few years ago when we were at Downtown Disney one night. But, I don't think the Hess Gas station is there anymore. Anyway, have fun.

There are a ton of little (they dwarf even anything in the UK) malls that are within really easy reach of WDW. I believe the one we visited is called the florida mall. You can either drive or catch a taxi which wont be too expensive. I have been told to avoid actual orlando 'town' as it isnt that great but most of the places near I drive and Lake buena vista are nice

Crossroads is home to one of my favorite Taco Bell restaurants anywhere. Just because it's so convenient to get to after a long day at the parks. Plus it has a few nice framed Disney paintings on the wall as you first walk in. There's also a peaceful little retaining pond with a fountain adjacent to it's parking area & drive-thru. Also worth noting it has a decorative shrubbery out front trimmed to look like a bell. I just now am realizing that I live a very pathetic & lonely life, as these are details nobody should remember.

You'll enjoy Crossroads, it's easily walkable for British feet from Saratoga Springs and is a great place to catch something to eat. If you like burgers, FuddRuckers is the best in the world in my view. Just don't go to Goodings Supermarket (go Publix instead, see below), it's a tourist trap with overpriced, out of date food.

My tip for shopping - take an Uber cab (only a few dollars) to the Orlando Vineland Premium Outlet Mall. It would take over an hour to walk there in the Florida heat, but is only a short cab ride and has plenty of good value shops, and a Publix supermarket which is the nicest chain in Florida with a real American grocery shopping experience.

It's near Disney and is open late, so would only be a few hours out of your Disney time but well worth it - there's also a Disney store outlet there that sells much of the same merchandise you see in the parks for much cheaper, so it can be a good place to get souvenirs too.

BrerJon thank you very much for the helpful info, isn't there a Walmart close to Crossroads? Although a trip to the outlet mall does sound appealing..

Crossroads is a bit touristy (and pricey) if you ask me. If you want to venture out to a grocery store by cab, go a step further (within a few miles) and visit any local Publix shopping plaza.

Also, just a mile north of Crossroads on the same road is more restaurants (Joe's Crab Shack, Perkins, Olive Garden, Angus Steakhouse, BK, Pizza Hut, IHOP, Dunkin Donuts, Steak and Shake, Giordono's Pizza, Perkins) plus a Walgreens and other gas stations.

No, the nearest Wal-Mart is down towards Kissimmee, about 5 miles away - not too far so should be less than ten bucks by Uber, but not walkable.

You could easily spend an afternoon shopping and seeing it all by getting a cab from Saratoga to Wal-Mart, then another from Wal-Mart to the outlet mall and Publix, then get a last cab from the outlets to Crossroads for dinner before a leisurely walk back to Saratoga to walk off those huge American portions!

Speaking of Crossroads, another tip for eating there that many British people love but many miss because it's tucked away at the back, Sweet Tomatoes - in my view the tastiest buffet in Orlando, and really cheap for what you get.

I meant to say it was a 1/4 mile north, not a mile. Very walkable.
