Reach out to your Lead or to Casting. They'll see if there's any room to cross-train

I don't think you can cross-train outside your role. Cross-training to a different location (or ride in your location), that's fine

Cross training is only for different areas in your field. You will have to transfer to be able to work in Merchandise. The only situation I have heard of this being different is waterparks but even they had to transfer but kept up their proficiencies in other areas to still work in them. Hope that helps.
