Creed Launches Scholarships at Space Camp

CAPE CANAVERAL (Orlando Business Journal) -- Orlando rock band Creed is funding 40 scholarships for families throughout the United States to attend Space Camp Florida's parent-child program July 26-28 at Kennedy Space Center. This marks the second year the internationally recognized band has funded scholarships for the camp. To qualify for a scholarship, the parent can write a one-page letter to Creed's With Arms Wide Open Foundation explaining why he or she would like to receive a scholarship, and why his or her financial situation precludes them for affording vacation time with their child. While at Space Camp, parents and children train like astronauts, build and launch rockets, and live in dorms that simulate outposts on the moon. The With Arms Wide Open Foundation was founded by Creed lead singer Scott Stapp and aims to raise public awareness of the importance of healthy parent-child relationships.
