creating a disney email address

Well, since you wanted to mention it, yes. I have been. More than likely for a longer period of time than most of the CM's who post on here.

Entitlement... that's a personal reason for wanting the address, not a business related reason.

Tell me, how does Disney benefit from you having an email address? I'll tell you how much: not one bit. So when you ask your manager, providing they're doing their job right, you won't get an email. Now, if you really want to get pushy with them (like you are with me), the manager will likely roll their eyes and ignore you. But if they want to be a jerk, they could write you up on insubordination and you'd enjoy the point that comes with that.

Wanna play nice now?

I'll tell you how disney will benefit from me having an email address. I will sign up with verizon with the disney discount and verizon and disney will continue to do buisness with eachother. not too complicated there.

I know my managers pretty well. None of them will roll their eyes at me, and nobody is going to write me up for asking a question. lol are you serious? nice try...but no.

Golden redhead: you took the words out of my mouth. It doesn't say anywhere that certain discounts are only available to certain CM's....it seems to me that we ARE able to recieve the discounts. I'm going to do some more research and talk to some people who actually know what they're talking about ;-)

You're telling me that Disney's business relationship with Verizon hinges solely on whether or not you sign up to save 19% on your service? Really? You expect me to believe that by you paying less for your service than the rest of us, Verizon will magically continue to do business with Disney? That the contracts signed between them for content distribution and development will be null and void if you don't get an email? You're telling me that the fact that Disney is one of the largest companies in the US that generally provides a large amount of business for their suppliers isn't a good enough reason for Disney and Verizon to have a business relationship that extends beyond giving CM's discounts? You must know nothing about business.

Have you tried telling Verizon verbally that you are a CM? That should get you the discount, no questions asked. If you want to save a little more, just say you work for Disney and not WDW, as the TWDC discount should be 1% more than the WDW discount.

If I was able to order my Macbook Pro with Disney discount using my gmail address, you should be able to get your discount without using a Disney email address.

I am serious. Seeing how pushy you've gotten on this thread, it seems obvious to me that you're a person just I used to be: someone who believes the rules don't apply to them. Even though I was generally on quite good terms with my management, I had to learn the hard way that the rules apply to all. If you keep asking them like you keep asking here, one manager may very well write you up for insubordination.

So again, there is NO BUSINESS REASON for you to get an email. But ask your manager. Each one. Then ask again.

You'll be told no every single time.

If you still have a Cast Service manager in your area, ask them how you can get the discount for the particular company you're looking for. I know that AT&T and Verizon allow you to fax a copy of your ID to them to get the discount.
