The "craziest" Disney souvenir I ever got -- inadvertently -- is a deep scar on my left knee. My husband and I were rushing to get out of the Magic Kingdom after the fireworks during Easter break, 2005. I was half-running with the crowd and couldn't see the ground due to the crush of people. I fell off of a curb on Main Street, U.S.A. and landed on my knee. I had a couple of napkins in my pocket, which I used as an impromptu bandage until I could get back to Coronado Springs. My parents were staying in the adjoining room, and my mother came in and helped to patch me up. (I was 29 at the time, but a mother is always a mother!)
Serves me right for trying to beat the crowd -- but seven years later, I still have a shiny pink scar on my knee to remind me of what was otherwise a beautiful and magical trip -- the last vacation we ever took with my Mom before she passed away. So while it wasn't exactly the kind of souvenir I wanted, I treasure it all the same.
