CP discount restrictions?

Is it possible to put the WDW CP discount on top of DVC rental or does the discount have to be applied to a disney direct reservation?

Maybe I didn't make it clear I'm talking about the Disney college program. I know we've got some CP students on here. Please help

I believe the discount is for a WDW room-only reservation.

Are you referring to renting DVC points? If so, there are no "discounts" on those as point rentals are handled by the owner themselves (or an agent they designated) and Disney has nothing to do with them. You may be able to work something out if you deal with the owner directly, but no discounts on those.
