covert drinking in the MK

So we're planning a large three family trip down to WDW in february - and the three families were over the house the other night to have dinner and do some planning/discussion. We were talking about restaurants in the MK and I mentioned how they don't serve alcohol except BoG. One of the fathers (who is a WDW virgin) asked why and I gave him the lowdown about drinking in the MK both in WDW and DLR, to which he responded "yeah, but that wouldn't stop a really, really motivated guy. Would it?"

So I regaled him with a slightly-disturbing story of a former neighbor -- who took his family down to WDW a few years ago. Upon learning that there was no drinking in the MK (This was before BoG) he grew concerned that he might need a few belts during their long day in the park. He ended up stuffing airplane bottles of whiskey and vodka in his kids shorts at the hotel before leaving for the MK -- and retrieved them from his kids after they got into the park.

So I thought it would be an interesting discussion to hear about other observations or stories about covert/gorilla drinking -- whether you've seen it or done it yourself, doesn't matter.

Personally, I've never done it -:angelic:- and likely won't. Though, the idea of a rum-spiked dole whip float in adventureland is tempting. :hungry:

As a disclaimer -- please do not make this a fight over whether alcohol should or should not be allowed in the MK. That's not the intent of the post and I don't want to see this to turn into a fight. If that's your intention with posting, please move on to something else. We *know* alcohol isn't served in the MK (except at BoG) and isn't allowed elsewhere in the park. Nor am I advocating for people to break the rules. Please keep things respectful, for the sake of the moderators.

The Epcot Manifesto
For a special occasion, meeting up with a few good WDWMagic buddies in the MK, I'm planning on attempting to bring in a little something to mix into our dole whip floats.
I'll say I have not tried this, but I've been given the idea to take an apple juice bottle, empty it, and fill it with a liquid of similar color. I then go through the no-bag line with the bottle in the pocket of my cargo shorts.

I'll let you know in a month or so if it works.

Never did it. BUT could you imagine being tanked on any ride in the MK?!?!?! I would imagine the top three rides to be intoxicated on would be #1 Pirates #2 Its a Small World #3 maybe the teacups....

BAHAHA thanks for the funny thoughts!

Actually, it would make small world more bearable. I would thoroughly enjoy Monsters Inc Laugh floor blitzed. I'd probably get a kick out going to the princess meet and greets. Wait, who am I kidding, I'd probably get kicked out....

As for teacups? :hungover: One of the reasons why I likely will never bring it into the parks is that my daughter literally drags me on that ride multiple times and demands that I spin so fast that I have a hard time walking off the platform after I'm done. I have a hard time keeping food down sober -- after she's through with me on that ride.

If someone was intent on doing this I would think airline miniature bottles and baggy cargo pant pockets go very well together.

what's the deal with taking a bottle of water into the park?
You're more than welcome to do so, regardless of whether it's been opened, as long as it's not glass. I would think that one of those reusable metal water bottles would be optimal for this sort of thing. I don't think I've ever seen security ask to open a bottle

Also if you take something that looks like Coke in a Coke bottle, they'll probably be none the wiser. Not that I've ever done it...

'Nor am I advocating for people to break the rules' But that is exactly what you are doing

All you people condoning rule breaking  I hope you all get thrown out :cautious: Lol but seriously, if you can't go a day without alcohol then you have a problem which needs looking at. A small drink is fine but if they intend to drink too much and get drunk and ruin it for others then they might as well not go at all. :grumpy:

Um, no it is not. If I wanted to start a thread about stories of bank robbers or interesting murder stories, I wouldn't be advocating for bank heists or killing people. HUGE difference. Something tells me that this comment is a pre-text for throwing down some judgmental comment later on in your post.

I rest my case.
