Courtyard by Marriott in LBV (near DTD)

Just got back from WDW and stayed in the Downtown Disney area at the Courtyard by Marriott. I think it used to be the old HOJO's back in the 80's. Anyway,.. location is nice for those who intend to go into Orlando to to outside WDW parks, but for the price, I'd have rather stayed at the Disney Movies or Music resort for less money. This is especially true if you intend to purchase a park hopper pass anyway and are going into the Disney parks for at least 4 days. The rooms at the Courtyard were straight forward, but the Heating/Air (I went in January 2003) wasn't working right even after a service call and "little things" that make Disney, Disney were not there.

I have to agree with the last post, we stayed the first week in December and was very disappointed - the rooms were OK but nothing special, the aircon/heater was very noisey and the ice machine was right outside our room, it could have been worse we could have had the washing/drying machines outside!.

We stayed in Jan 2000 and found the same true. Plus the bus system is not Disney Transport, and we found it to be slow and if you missed the bus in the morning, pick another park to go to.

Actually we found their transportation system so bad, we would take their bus in the morning, and then just take a Disney Transport to Downtown Disney at night, spend a little time there, and walk back.

Definately not worth it for someone who does the parks every day.

We stayed there in Sept 2001 and in Dec 2001. I sort of agree with the previous post but the first time we stayed there we stayed for $20.01 per night. My only complaint was we were facing I-4 and it was very noisy. We did get to see the traffic on I-4 on Sept 11 when all the parks got evacuated. Then in Dec 2001 we payed $29.00 per night and they gave us an oversized room on the 14th overlooking the road leading to downtown Disney. If the price is good I would stay again. i had no problems with the transportation, I thought there buses were nicer than Disney's.
