:sohappy: Just made my hotel Park & Fly reservations - now it seems official. Flying out of Pittsbugh @ 745AM which meant leaving home @ 3AM - made a whole lot more sense to spend the night before by the airport, and would have had to pay for parking anyway. So for an $80 hotel room, we get around 3 more hours to sleep and someone else gets to mess with airport traffic. Hope to be checked in and on our way to the MK by noon. We'll be ready for lunch at Tony's - don't figure we'll have much time for breakfast!!

I did close to what you did. It's WAYYY cheper ($300 round trip) to fly out of Omaha, NE (2 1/2 hours from home) instead of Sioux Falls, SD (home) to Orlando. My flight is at 6:30am and my parents are driving me down the night before and I'm taking the airport shuttle to the airport in the AM. That way I'll be rested and won't 'waste' a day of my vacation.

I'm doing the same thing. We live in East TN but are flying out of Atlanta since it is about a third of the price. Our flight leaves at 8A, so we would have been gettting up at like 3A to get to the airport and then having to pay $ everyday of parking. I got our room for like $60, so its actually cheaper for us to go the night before, sleep a little later and have them drive us to the airport!

Can't beat that!!

Wow that is really early for me. I could never wake up that early. But if it is to go home then I would because I love the mouse.

I am thinking about to go tomorrow. I don't know, maybe.

Everyone told me it would be cheaper for me to fly out of Columbus, too, but I felt I got a good deal @ $274/ea round trip, so I didn't feel like adding 6 hours of driving time (What with the cost of gas) and with just me and DD, I felt safer staying close to home.

We are doing something similar. We originally had seats on the 8:30 AM SWA flight out of Pittsburgh on 09/15. When prices went down, I switched our reservations to 7:45 the night before and booked the Nick Hotel for that night (the older sons are big fans of Nick, too). It made more sense to get a good night's sleep than getting three kids up at 3 AM and wasting our entire day (we're going to MNSSHP that night, as well). All of us felt this was well worth the little bit of extra money and now we have $360 credit with SWA that we can use for the hubby and mine's 10th anniversary trip to Vegas in May. It just makes alot more sense than waking everyone up at the crack of dawn and then sitting at an airport all morning. I feel much better about this plan. Only 8 more days!!

I did that on my last trip. 4 of us meet in Orlando - I fly in to MCO the night before everyone else - it was that or make them wait and extra 3.5 hours for me to arrive. Stayed at a hotel near the airport and meet them at baggage - I was the one well rested the next morning without the early am flight.
