I read some where that at counter service places you can have the side left off to save some some $$?
Like if you just want the pizza have the side salad left off.. kidos don't eat it anyway.
Has anyone done this?

I've never done this but would be interested to know the answer. We love Pizzafari but haven't eaten there in recent years because we don't like pre-made caesar salads and certainly don't want it with our pizzas. If we could order 2 pizzas without the salads, we would certainly go back there for lunch. Otherwise we're going to be going with Picnic in the Park for lunch in June.

I dont have any soild info to this, but just with thinking about it i would say it might be possible to save money if you were paying for the meal out of pocket.
I think that if you are using the Dining Plan this would not work as it would cause alot of confusion as the meals are already paid for.

You can quite often order things that don't appear on the menu. Things like a single burger, when on the menu its a double burger. So you may well be able to order just the pizza. You can always ask and see.

do they have a separate pricing structure for this or would they still charge you for the double cheeseburger?

Often it is less expensive. Most places are fairly accomodating to this even though they don't advertise it. There are times I have looked at the screen when I am giving my order to the CM and I see a bunch of items that aren't on the menus.

Yes, you can do this at most places. If the menu offers a burger/hotdog/chicken nugget "basket", tell them no fries and you save like $2. Or, on the other hand, you can order a double cheeseburger, order an extra bun (like $1) and you can split into 2 burgers to share. Or at Columbia Harbor House, my daughter and I get the fish & chicken basket, she gets the chicken, I get the fish and we share the fries.
I tried this at Pizza Planet but I don't remember if I was able to do it with your pizza & salad example but it doesn't hurt to try.

Does anyone have any experience leaving off (and not paying for) the Beans & Slaw that come with both the ribs and the sandwich at Flame Tree?

I do not eat either side and it kills me to have to waste that food (and pay extra for fries) if they allow you to order just the ribs or just the sandwich.

If the menu shows a double with bacon combo, you can order a single with or without bacon and with or without a side and YES it will be cheaper. You can also just order the double without side as well and it'll be cheaper.

Basically, if it's on the menu at that location, they'll sell it to you. :D
