If The Walt Disney Company was willing to pay to get it, but why would anyone want that?

Tokyo Disney Resort is still operated to a high standard and the Oriental Land Company is used as a source of development funding for Walt Disney Imagineering.

The thing about Tokyo Disney is that, compared to other Disney parks, it is very much a culturally-oriented park as in it is largely catered to the locals.
OLC pays for royalties and licenses for Disney characters and involves them in concepts and themes that will readily appeal to the Japanese population but may go over the heads of Westerners. The current 15th Anniversary is a good example of this because the wish crystals are similar to the idea of power stones which in itself has a cult-like following in Japan.
Since OLC is a leisure corporation based in Japan, it is better that OLC run TDR rather than TWDC considering its target demographic. With OLC steering the ship, profits have been consistent and even continue to rise to the point of park expansion so there really is no reason for OLC to hand over TDR or for TWDC to take it over at this point.
