Could Saving Mr. Banks' popularity bring Bert back to an everyday character meeting with Mary. This is just a theory. It would be great to see everyone's favorite Chimney Sweep back in action Or maybe even the Penguins meeting with her. Or both. Bert would be nice to see!!!:p:D:)

There's actually a rumor of having a Walt Disney meet and greet! Except, you can't really meet nor greet him... you just walk around his frozen body and pay $14.99 for a picture. Welcome to Disney!

We have a picture of my parents with Mary and Bert before the character breakfast at 1900 Park Fare in the Grand Floridian. I did not realize that he was now gone (but I haven't eaten there in a while, the picture being about 10 years old). It seemed natural that they be together. I would vote to bring him back. I also would vote to show "Mary Poppins" on TV more often...

Bert is gone because of budget cuts, just like many other characters who have disappeared over the past few years. Popularity of the film won't bring him back.

The film really has nothing to do with Bert. His character is mentioned in passing once, and it's for Travers to make a dismissive (but hilarious) comment about Dick Van . Mary Poppins (never just Mary!) on the other hand is discussed extensively.

Anyway, Bert no longer has regular meet and greets, but still comes out for events (Very Merry, True Love week, this most recent promotion at Epcot, etc.). He also appears in the Fantasmic finale.

At the moment, there's only one friend of Bert on staff who can convincingly play him in a meet and greet where guests are close to him. His other friends are very young and not at all convincing.

This is a thread under WDW General Discusion not DLR:)

What is your point? I brought it up because it is strange that some characters are more prominent on the other coast. I should direct you to the current MM/FP+ thread, Disneyland has been brought up plenty of times today. If it's relevant to the conversation, what does it matter if DL is brought up?

Hi! I'm englanddg. I'm a nutball who posts all over. I rarely have opinions, but when I do, I will defend them until I pass out.

That's @raven24 . She hates that I call Disneyland California...Disneyland California (DLC). She's awesome, and really knows those parks.

I'm sure you will meet many more interesting characters here on the boards.

So, as the resident nutball, I wish you a hearty welcome and a happy wednesday!
