Could FLE be just the beginning?

Besides the logistics of moving guests to an Orlando Expo, there is the logistics of moving the actual Expo content. All of that content originates in Southern California. A very large number of the people who spoke, presented, appeared, etc. at the D23 Expo live and/or work in Southern California.

His post is not the end all to end all. It can happen, with ease.

I am not arguing for nothing, i am tired of people like you who think a vast majority of Disney fans should get screwed over by a company they love to death. Go tell a little kid that they will not enjoy the benefits of the D23 convention because Disney does not care about them and only wants to please their California fanbase.

No, not with ease. Not with people spread out at events over a half-dozen different locations.

And for someone claiming to be a CM, you don't know much about those you are supposedly advocating for. The vast majority you keep speaking for are not D23 members. AP holders, frequent guests, maybe even some DVC owners. But the so-called vast majority of Disney guests are still not D23 members. And those east of the Rockies that are, who just have to be at the next convention so desperately, well they have a year to save and plan. Just as those west of the Rockies would if the next convention was in Orlando.

Now let's just take this all in the spirit of good fun.

But let's assume this was purely a Florida vs. Southern California thing, which it isn't. But let's just pretend that all of the logistics issues of not only getting 40,000 people around the event, but just the process of shipping all of the exhibits, pavilions and archival material out to Florida is also not an issue. Let's pretend all of the logistical problems and dramatic lack of space in WDW are not an issue and they hold the whole thing in OCCC.

If it's just a SoCal vs. FLA thing, then the numbers still show that having it in SoCal is better numbers-wise.

Population of Southern California (within a 2 hour drive of Disneyland)
20 Million

Population of Central Florida (within a 2 hour drive of WDW)
5 Million

But again, it's not just the population numbers. It's the logistical problems and lack of space at WDW that have the D23 Expo booked at the Anaheim Convention Center through 2015.

I still think there's an opportunity to host one of the smaller D23 Destination D events that comes to the Disneyland Hotel this month at WDW. Maybe for the 40th Anniversary next year they could try something at the Coronado Springs Convention Center?

Heck, I'm not even a D23 member. I just pick up a copy of the magazine every once in awhile at the Disneyana shop on Main Street USA, and I pay the extra 5 bucks and crash the events that interest me when they come to Anaheim. Who needs a membership card?

I actually am talking about D23 members, but good job trying to put words in my mouth......

So instead of spreading the wealth out so that all fans are pleased, fans east of the Rockies should have to have pay 20 times what California fans have to pay? You really just dont care about anyone but yourself.

Hey it is easy for me to go to the D23 convention so screw everyone else...i know it is easy for them to break it into TWO conventions but screw the majority of the country, only California matters.

Dramatic lack of space? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

See I am a D23 member and there was only about 2 events at WDW while there was almost 10 or so events at DL, how is that remotely fair?

Oh and about logistics, Marvel is based out of New York yet they are able to make it to San Diego for comic con EVERY YEAR with ease....

That's right, because you know I could care less about those who can't attend the D23 convention, no matter where it's held.

You truly are just arguing for nothing now but to argue. I'm done feeding this....

You have no point and know that i am right.

Please tell me why they cant break it up into TWO big events instead of one big event?

Good news!... Virgin America just started non-stop service from Orlando to Los Angeles. Fares start at just $129 each way, and as a Virgin America Elevate member, I can tell you that it's the best way to fly in the USA today. Mod cabin lighting, mod cabin music, mod cocktails, mod stewardesses who are noticeably attractive and very charming, mod leather seats with mod seatback entertainment and wi-fi...

Virgin America would be a great, and rather cheap, way to get to the next D23 Expo, that's for sure.

While I do agree with you that Virgin America is a great Airline, 200 plus for airfare per person, plus lodging, plus fees, etc. compared to just incedentals for California residents still prove my point. Disney hates anyone who does not live in California.
