Could EMH ever be expanded to include AP guests?

We no longer stay at resorts due to very generous family that has moved into the area.

But it would sure be neat for our APs to allow us EMH access.

I know it would probably never happen, but we did find it neat having more EMH opportunities over the holidays.

Doubtful. Disney wants to give exclusive incentives so they can use it to promote their resorts. If you start expanding the amount of people who can take advantage of EMH, then you start to give some people less of a reason to shell out the bucks for a resort stay.

As an AP holder myself, I sure hope this never happens. EMH would become useless.

I too am a current AP holder and agree that the reason for EMHs is to offer a incentive for guests to stay on property. EMHs are packed enough as it is now, in fact it is almost to the point of it not being worth going.

EMH Hour or Hours

Given that Disney keeps adding resorts to its options they may need to think of having a 2-hour EMH instead of a 1-hour one. It does seem like the parks are crowded during EMH compared to past years, and Disney transportation, even when you leave early, sometimes costs you a big chunk of that hour just getting to the park and then to the attractions (e.g., bus service from Beach Club and the time it takes to get from the bus stop to Fantasyland even walking quickly--or taking the boats from the Beach Club to Hollywood Studios).

It would be nice for Disney to have a quarterly AP night or morning EMforAP kind of event at a park that is not the one for the regular resort guests on that day. It could encourage additional park attendance by AP holders. I think others have posted on this web site that in CA the locals are the key to the success of Disneyland--maybe the FL locals could help Disney World in the same way (not that it needs help, but it appears if locals are going a lot, Disney points more TLC to attractions from what you read on this web site from time to time).

I would like to see other added incentives for AP holders. For example, if you are local to central Florida then you probably know someone who works for Disney. So why not pass additional retail discounts on to the AP holders so that they don't have to have a CM with them to save 40% on merch? Disney label merch is already grossly overpriced, so 10% off is an insult. And if discounts for third party label items (like much of what was is sold in Epcot) we're higher, I might consider WDW for more of my shopping needs ...and they would still turn a profit. Oh well. Amazon it is.

I think that would be a great idea as well. Just one night But I think you would also need to pre-register to make sure crowds don't get out of hang.

I agree with most... likely never, and that is a good thing.

I mean, the point of the EMH is to have that exclusive feel to the park. I had a great experience in my last trip. I think Disney analysts may have over speculated their projections for the spring break season. We went the first week of March right before their projected start of spring break and we had a 3AM EMH at MK that was just amazing. There just weren't that many people... we rode everything with nothing more than a 4 min wait, it was pretty epic. I think if they opened up to the AP holders you would have a ton of locals pouring in and well, it wouldn't be as open as it should be.

it is a definite factor for me and my fiance...

now, it all depends but last March we had a 3AM on the schedule and a few 1AM's and that was an absolute deal breaker for us. I use the following checklist to make the onsite decision.

1.) EMH on the projected schedules. AM EMH mean nothing to me, I am a late night guy!
2.) rack rate discounts... 35% off deluxe is a great deal
3.) car rentals are steep for me, ran me roughly 300 bucks last year plus 14 a day to park.

I would love to see an AP special night, however, I would like it more if they gave us a discount to make it reasonable for AP holders to eat in the park. Personally I go to a park for 3-4 hours and leave when its time to eat.
