Could Disney have its own version of Gaylord Palms Ice?

Seems like they have the perfect characters to tie it in now too, Not only does Disneyworld have the space for this kind of event (Somewhere on property I am sure), but they also have the crowds more than willing to please it. Find a resort somewhere with the same kind of space needed for this, theme the entrance to elsa’s ice palace and make it seem like guests are taking a tour, the back story is that Elsa and Kristoff have been working on a bunch of ice sculptures that they wanna show off to the royal guests, Top it all off with a meet and greet and hot chocolate at Oaken’s store where Anna and Kristoff can interact with guests and tell stories maybe even a receive visit from Arendelle’s own Snow queen. Make this a seasonal separate ticketed event and boom instant success.

This would be awesome. Maybe have Elsa show up towards the end of the exhibit? in her palace room before guests exit to visit Oaken's store.

I don't see Disney putting out the cash to build the giant freezer required to maintain an ice structure that size just for a seasonal event. Plus, Disney does not have that much of a track record for building attractions around its animated movies so soon after release. Ten years, maybe, but doubtful.

I honestly don't know if they have the space.

Even if a resort did have the space, where would people park? Have you seen what ICE does to,traffic and parking on Osceola Parkway and I-Drive South? They can't even park them at DTD right now, either.

They really don't need to do it. We already have ICE. This year it is all Frosty except for the last scene, the nativity one, which is stunningly beautiful.

They also have a Christmas show in one of the atriums, with singers and aerialists - it's very good.

The place is decorated beautifully, too. Disney should send some people over there to see how to do beautiful hotel decorations, lol.

I suppose that more ice sculptures wouldn't hurt, though. I'd surely go to see them. :)

I've been to Ice at the Gaylord in DC and they use a giant out door tent for this.
Thank you, there is plenty of space, and plenty of parking space all around the WDW for this kind of event! Also why not do even if Gaylord has their version? More ice shows with different sculptures equals more fun for me! I am not saying this is a definite and I know all too well about tdo spending habits, I am just saying logistically its cool and could be a great seasonal offering especially for those on property!

I could see them shelving the money out for this if its a separate ticketed event! Also beauty and the beast and the little mermaid both received shows about 2-3 years after their releases. Not so much an attraction as it is a winter walk through.

I am aware of this, and it's kind of my point. Where would WDW put this tent? And where would they park people. None of the resorts have the space or parking spots.

The only place I could think of that could possibly handle it is the grounds of Wide world of Sports.

Have you looked at the MK parking lots lately?

And where exactly do you think they run all these Run Disney races from year round?
Thank you good sir, space is never, never, never a real issue when it comes to WDW. Its kinda why they have so much land. I am sure somewhere at some resort this could be a functioning event.

There is no reason that Disney could not have done this years ago if they wanted to. After all, very few of the themes used at Gaylord's Ice have had anything to do with "ice" at all. I doubt suddenly having a successful movie like Frozen will make them jump on the ice carving bandwagon to the scale that Gaylord Palms has.

Well with the princess power behind this film it means ticket sales are almost guaranteed, especially for the meet and greet aspect of it, gives the kids an incentive and gives the adults something amazing to look at. As Gaylord uses Dreamwork titles to help bring in the kiddies these two princess should pack the wallop needed to convince management to give it the go.
