With recent news of cbs selling it's themeparks could disney be buying the paromount themeparks.Personally I think it would be a great idea for disney to buy the parks.Of course one reason it would be good is because I live in charlotte.Plus it would be good for the area and I always did want a disney world where I lived. So if the people who are the higher ups at disney are reading this please think about buying the paromount parks it would be a great strategey marketing business.

I would highly, highly doubt it since the parks probably are not up to Disney quality. They wouldnt want sub-standard parks associated with their name and bring the brand down... well on second thought they did open California Adventure... :slurp:

I think if they were to buy them, they would gut them - but as the previous poster said, I think it's all highly unlikely. It's more likely that Six Flags buys them.

I honestly wouldn't like and can't see this happening, first of all, a Paramount Park is nothing at all Disney, so what would they do there, demolish the entire park and rebuild it?

Secondly, would it be a good investment for them, if the parks are being sold off could this be because they are not making enough money for their owner, why would WDC then want to take on this?

Thirdly, They could never be Disney!

And also, do Disney really need another resort in the USA at the moment?

I can't see them doing it. I've been to many Paramount parks, and personally they are no Disney quality. Better than Six Flags but no Disney.

Maybe Six Flags, but my guess would be an unknown company...

I doubt Disney would buy them. And Six Flags won't either since they are closing some parks down and restructuring their business. Cedar Fair on the other hand.......

Yes, they could do it, if they wanted to, but there's really no reason to.
In fact I feel very confident in saying "No." You can quote me on that...

Well if disney did buy the paromount parks they probaly would demolish the whole parks and start off fresh.Personally my city charlotte n.c. is becoming a real big city. And we have alot of people who live here and if disney were to buy them that would be a good investment for disney. But hey I am not the president of disney it is up to them to decide if it would be a good thing or not.And if they planned things right it would be excellent. So until they say who is going to buy it things are what they are and what it will be is what it will be I am keeping my fingers crossed it will be disney though.

Then there would be no point in buying the parks in the first place.

No, I don't think so. I would even have to bring in to question as to if the US market is large enough to support another resort...

I wouldn't count on it.

ah no. charlotte is crap. it's a little city tryign to be a big city and is well, failing. i live in charlotte as well. and have most of my life. Disney won't buy carowinds. trust me on that. no reason to. they can't have it open year round (which is pre-requisite for a disney park). it's just not feesible...espcially in Charlotte.

What I mean by them tearing down the park and Starting off new is that they would do away with the rollercoasters and stuff and put disney themed rides in their place. And they would totally give the park a complete new look and stuff.Plus the carowinds where I live has 105 or more acres of land. And if they were to get rid of the campground that would be even more room. And plus we have an outlet marketplace right beside carowinds where I live and almost all of the shops in the mall have closed. So if disney were to buy paromount they could also buyout the outlet marketplace. And then they can tear down the marketplace and have even more land.

Why buy a garbage park only to tear it down and build Disney style rides when they have Disneyland and Disney World with Disney style rides already? Why spend that amount of money when they can take those billions and build rides to their current parks?? Doesn't make sense...

Disney needs neither the resources, the land, nor anything else at the paramount parks...it will not happen.

Paramount parks often try to sell off parts - even Cedar Fair which sometimes jumps in to try to help eventually backs out.

I don't get this post - are you worried that your local theme park is going to close? That could be -- happens all the time. On the other hand, they are run by big corporations whose sole purpose is to make money for the stockholders. Disney has their own stockholders with their own money, and they own a fifth of Orlando...they don't want a park outside of California or Orlando...why should they?

It seems that Disney learned their lesson with trying to retrofit Mission: Space into an existing building.

I doubt they would want to retrofit an entire park.
