Could California get a new Theme Park?

Hmmm... original IP fans rejoice. Hopefully this will prove Chapek quite wrong about his assumption that all attractions need to be around extant IP.

Yeah I'm sure that Disney, a global multimedia conglomerate worth $240 billion on the strength of its IP, is going to shift strategies because some 3rd rate amusement park operator in California, who probably can't even afford to outsource The Flintstones, says sticking a brand on everything is bad. 🙄

If Disney had a soul then Yes.

Do you expect a company that operates businesses with China, a government that, according to the UN, the US State Dept, Amnesty International, and others, has openly defied calls to curb its numerous human rights violations, to have a soul?

Which gets us back to this alleged Mystic City thing as a new theme park in SoCal. There's no obvious place where it could go, and really no land left. You'd need at least a few hundred acres and close to a freeway.

Off the top of my head, I have no knowledge of any such parcel existing between Ventura-Palm Springs-San Clemente. Maybe you could do something out in the hills around Simi Valley? Or way out on I-10 around Moreno Valley? But it's going to be a pain to get there.

Walt sure was brilliant hiring Buzz Price and buying as much land as he could in Anaheim. You can't get more central and convenient than that!

Plenty of land here along the 15 in Corona. Build-able? Not sure. No way I want it out here though, traffic is already a nightmare.

Best place to build would be central Utah near Fillmore. Good temperature year round. Lots of farmland and near Fishlake National Forest. A little north of Zion National Park. The cast members would already have that classic Disney look. No man buns.

As someone who spent 4 years living in Utah for school... This got a good laugh.

Also, Fillmore has a killer Maverick gas station. It's one of my preferred stops when driving the 15.

I've never heard of Mystic City theme park.

And I can't think of anywhere in SoCal where there's a few hundred acres of empty land next to a freeway just sitting there waiting to be zoned for theme park use.

This whole thing sounds very suspicious.
Because there are no other places that could possibly house a large theme park in California.

Palm Springs area. Eastern San Diego County, Bakersfield, Sacramento area, Cabazon just off the top of my head.

one of the areas that would make more sense is Temecula.

Large open land, Large population growth, right in the middle proximity of Riverside, San Diego. Wine country adds an additional tourist lure and close to several major freeways.
