>>Adrenalin Attractions is in development discussions with investors and amusement park vendors to build a Mystic City theme park at an undisclosed location in California, D’Avanzo said. The $2 billion theme park will feature 35 attractions including dark rides, roller coasters and a water ride, he said.

“We just don’t want to have 14 different attractions with Mystic on them,” D’Avanzo said in a phone interview. “It just muddies the waters.”<<

Maybe you can lobby him to build "Mystic Legend City". ;)

That was before my time :(

It's sort of been a dream of mine to build a realistic Western park, that is 3 different towns likened to those you would see in Red Dead Redemption, all connected by dirt path through the desert, and a life size 4-4-0 making the round trip as a second option. People could rent out horses, take rides in carriages, check in at the local saloon, there'd be random activities for kids and shows. If only I knew where to start, and find the funding.

You could build life like robots for town people. It will save on employee taxes, health care and union dues.

What could possibly go wrong?

So is this guy basically saying he owns the rights to the word MYSTIC? I can understand if someone else tries to use the exact name for the ride in this case Mystic Motel but the theme park company is just using the word Mystic within the rides name.

Doesn't the climate prevent a major theme park from opening in Phoenix? Kind of like how Seattle also doesn't have a major theme park. But similar or even smaller sized cities with more hospitable April-October climates have Six Flags or other major theme parks.

Seattle Metro Population = 4 Million
Phoenix Metro Population = 4.8 Million
Charlotte Metro Populaton = 2.6 Million, Carowinds
San Antonio Metro Population = 2.5 Million, Six Flags Fiesta Texas
St. Louis Metro Population = 2.8 Million, Six Flags St. Louis
Cincinnati Metro Population = 2.1 Million, Kings Island

My man I could name several water parks that we have here, but I meant like a full-fledged coaster / highly themed attractions park!

Great point! Yes and no - Phoenix itself may be too hot in the summer, but there's no open land here to develop a Disney sized park anyway. The best location would be somewhere between Phoenix & Flagstaff. There's been a couple of plans in the works, like that Generations theme park (supposed to be based on generations of music), but they always fall-through.

Well, in Phoenix, Six Flags bought the Wet N Wild Water Park and rebranded it Hurricane Harbor in 2019. So in the heat, a Water Park open in the Summer (mid March to mid October) makes sense.

But for a ride park, I think you would have to look at Circus Circus and making it indoors.

Though MGM Grand Adventures tried it....

Which gets us back to this alleged Mystic City thing as a new theme park in SoCal. There's no obvious place where it could go, and really no land left. You'd need at least a few hundred acres and close to a freeway.

Off the top of my head, I have no knowledge of any such parcel existing between Ventura-Palm Springs-San Clemente. Maybe you could do something out in the hills around Simi Valley? Or way out on I-10 around Moreno Valley? But it's going to be a pain to get there.

Walt sure was brilliant hiring Buzz Price and buying as much land as he could in Anaheim. You can't get more central and convenient than that!

Build one in Arizona already!! We're like the 5th biggest city in the country and all we have is Castle's n Coasters and a few zoos.
I agree. I live in Phoenix and I want a real theme park. Castles and Coasters stinks. well, its not that it stinks, DESSERT STORM is a damn good coaster and the log ride is fun but that's it. the whole park can be done in a half hour. How do I know? Because in 2015 I did the whole park in a half hour and spent the rest of that july summer day re-riding the coaster and the log ride until i got bored and went home.
