News Cost Cutting Measures Coming Early 2025

Heard from multiple people that all areas of WDW are being asked to cut costs effective across the first few months of 2025. Not sure exactly how these will show up, but expect the usual like reduced hours, and labor cuts.

2025 is NOT the Year for Cutbacks....at Any Park in Orlando!!!

We'll see what measures they take, but this time last year I didn't see any significant changes. Outside of early park closures (like DAK at 6 or MK at 9), anything else will be out of the ordinary from the past few years (like shorter hours for The Seas at Epcot).

When will stockholders and the rich realize they would actually benefit from investment in the parks and not cuts??

Has over-investment ever killed a park or a project? Sure! But have cuts ever improved visitation numbers? No.

The obsession with per-guest spending is a direct result of the cuts, you need to find the money for the revenue sheets somewhere and that's where it will come from.

It genuinely feels like Disney would rather have 10 people spend $100 million on one vacation each rather than a million people spend $1,000 each which is absurd

From Steve's Story this morning, we don't know if the 7PM closure is due to low crowds or Referb Work. Some Marine Life has been taken out of the Seas....

Impossible! We’ve been told the Parks revenues and profits have never been higher, and now that D+ is flush with cash, profits, and sustainable growth the era of Parks stagnation should be over right?

My best guess is something like Imagination Figment and Pixar short film festival closing at 7pm. Country Bears goes back to old hours before the new show. I expect a lot of late openings and early ride/show closures at all 4 parks.

My company is cutting as many US based jobs as they can to send to lesser developed countries with cheap labor.

This is just the way of things in Fortune 500.

Expense cuts is the only dialect the shareholder understands.

That's only if you're a long term investor....right now US companies only care about quarterly earnings.

They absolutely would. You’re taking in the same amount of money, but to cater to a million people you need way more restaurants and shops and cast members and longer hours than you do to cater to 10 people.

If you can make the same amount in income from fewer guests, your profit goes up even if your total income is flat. In theory. And that’s all they care about

Of course they would. Why wouldn’t they. Same amount of money with less cost.

Because they narrow the scope of their appeal. Walt wanted the masses, not the best businessman but he had heart.
If you only sell lambo's and Ferrari's you don't have anything to offer the Chevy guy but hey the Chevy guy shouldn't feel bad he can't get what the others are having? Maybe he should just find a better job? Can't afford DVC/Club 33? Then we don't want to associate with your kind. Sounds like words right out of Bob's mouth from his corner office with a shower and stock options.
The goal to turn the park experience into an exclusive club is obscene and degrades the heart of 60 years of creation
