Cosmic Ray's Anyone?

Okay, so it's not a gourmet eatery...but can I get some love for this Tomorrowland spot? My family and I stop here first every time we visit The World!! Be it their various chicken offerings or burgers and other sandwiches, we can't get enough. Not to mention Mr. Sunny Eclipse and his show, corny but fun!! I used to be a big Pecos Bill's guy, but after trying Ray's a few year's back...we have a new champ!! Don't read me wrong, I love Chef mickey's, Le Cellier, Akershus and other fancier restaurants...but when it comes to counter service, Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe' is tops!!

Cosmic Ray's is probably my 2nd favorite quick service restaurant. I love it! During my cp, I'd stop there for a bite all the time. During my merchandising cp, I'd pick up shifts in the emporium a lot and go in early just to grab a bite at cosmic rays before my shift started

Eh... I only go to see Sonny. The rotisserie chicken isn't bad I guess, but I'd rather go to Columbia Harbor House for quick service in MK.

Ok I'll bite first! LOL We love CR! We always get the burgers or the rot chicken with m pots and green beans! Yummy!!
It does get a bit crowded and hard to find tables so you have to eat early or late.

While the food quality is probably average at best it has plenty of other reasons for us to stop by. It has a number of different types of food offerings, it's inside with plentiful seating, and it's air conditioned. I too enjoy the cheesy crooning and comedy of Sonny Eclipse. It's a nice break from the heat, humidity, and hustle and bustle of the park.

Most definitely; my family loves Cosmic Rays and Sonny Eclipse. My DW always orders the ½ chicken dinner. My DS loves the BBQ pork sandwich and he loved the ribs when they had them. I usually go for a hot dog or a burger but I love my chilli cheese fries.

We hit it once last year at night to use up some free QS credits that were piling up in the second week.No complaints. I had this awesome sweet,it was like a lemon/lime brûlée.My DS almost scoffed it down before I stole it back.

Sonny Eclipse makes the place. I have had their Chicken Ribs combo a few times in years past, but I prefer Columbia Harbor House.

I haven't been to Cosmic Ray's in years, but recently going to the CHH for the first time, I'll likely make that my new favorite QS. Between that and Peco's Bills.

Ok, I'm biting too! Cosmic Ray's is very nostalgic for us so we usually eat there once every year....crowds and all! My DH LOVES their condiment bar. His plate will come back covered in mushroom, peppers and onions to the point where you can't see what he ordered.

Cosmic Ray's has been our first day lunch stop every year.

It's one of those places that's not so much just about the food.

Don't get me wrong - The food isn't bad, the burgers are good and the wife and kids love the chicken,
But it's all about vibe...Sonny is awesome (always gotta catch a couple tunes from my favorite cornball crooner), and the "back deck" view of Cindy's castle with a nice breeze blowing through can't be beat either.
It's just one of those unique MK \ WDW kinda places you can't find anywhere else.

YES! Love the chicken and ribs combo and Sonny Eclipse. This is the ONLY restaurant that our family has hit on every single WDW trip. MK means Cosmic Rays for lunch or dinner for us!

There is a Sonny song on one of the music from the park CD's we have so I have the added bonus of being able to sing along with Sonny when we eat there. Everyone sing with me... "oh bright little star..."

Sonny Eclipse needs a longer track loop. My kids eat really slow and we were there long enough to hear the same things repeated again. He is amuzing though. I do like the three sides of offerings for food selection except for the fact that we each wanted something else resulting in multiple line waits or splitting up and ordering in each section. But overall the food that we received was good.

Anyone remember how that area used to be a stage and they had LIVE bands there? I swear I saw Starship perform there sometime in the late 80's/early 90's.

A trip to the World is not complete without a stop at Cosmic Rays! I love the outdoor seating overlooking the castle.
