OK crazy thought

Wouldn't it be cool if Disney took one of the unused corporate lounges, and made it into a private club, like Club 33 in Disneyland?

I think I've been in the former FedEx Space Mountain lounge, rather quickly...

AAA fed us this line when we still used them for booking stuff. "Oh, you'll get access to a lounge in the park so you can rest a bit in this exclusive thing with this deal we have."

Well, we hunted around and found the special gate that goes around a side of the mountain and walked the path into it. It wasn't a very big room, no more than 1,000 sq. ft. There was the receptionist desk on the right, kind of like a hotel desk. On the left was some furniture. They had coffee and possibly some soft drink fountains with light snacks.

Just about to sit down as they informed my parents that AAA was full of it. We weren't mad though, not their fault that AAA didn't have their story straight, as we expected that sort of thing from a company that listed in their tourbook to see the famous Salem courthouse that had burned down a century before.

A couple years ago you used to be able to go into The Land's lounge. Great place to relax in the a/c and now have to listen to screaming children.

I haven't seen this on anyone's posts on this thread (or I was reading too quickly :lookaroun), but I think Universe of Energy used to have one of these back when it was sponsored by Exxon. I never really knew what it was called, but it seems to fit the bill.

In a nutshell, FIL was a high ranking exec at Exxon and got DH and I VIP access to a lounge at Universe of Energy back in 1998. While I don't remember all of the details, I remember going in through a private door and an Exxon concierge had all of our info. We had special badges or passes and were escorted to a lounge area with tvs, food, other refreshments, etc. We were later escorted into the actual Universe of Energy attraction through a private interior entrance before the general public came in...basically giving us first crack at seats. We were also allowed to return to the lounge at any point in the day if we chose to do so.

I have pictures somewhere, but no clue where. I remember it all looking like a nice corporate meeting/conference area.

Back in 1975 there was a GE corporate lounge at the Carousel of Progress, you had a special entrance, and as part of the lounge you got to enter the carousel of progress before they opened the doors for everyone else... you got to ride 1 section for 1 partial rotation.

Yup, you were in the FedEx lounge. That's all there really was to it. Of course, after they finished their snacks and soft drinks, employees were allowed to get right on to the ride with no wait.

You went to the wrong lounge. AAA had a lounge attached to Carousel of Progress. In that lounge if you booked with AAA there was snacks and drinks.

We got to tour the HP lounge while doing the Undiscovered Future World tour. We were specifically told not to touch the drinks, food, etc. We did get to see the former lounge at the Living Seas. They do use it for special events. In fact, I believe it was going to be used for a wedding later in the week. That space was really big.
