They are saying end of Summer for data and possibly September for authorization for 5-11 year olds but it is possible that is accelerated a little considering how well the 12-15 and 12-17 year old trials went for Pfizer and Moderna. I haven’t seen an update recently but both companies are running a phase 1/2 trial that is determining the proper dose for various age kids down to 6 months. Once the dosage is determined then a full phase 3 trial will start with more participants but they will need 2 months of safety data so that means the earliest they could announce results and apply for an amendment to EUA is 2 months after the phase 3 trial shots are administered.Well, your friend was staying in anyway, right? So things haven't changed for her.
I hope they can get a vaccine approved quickly for your younger son.
