If anything comes of what Disney is doing to open up things it’s the arrows on the ground to keep people from straying. That looked pleasant! How about arrows on the ground in every park even after this has ended.

That’s why I said earlier that in theory if it’s ok to take the mask off in a restaurant because you are seated 6 feet apart it should be OK on a ride too
I think I have made this point in an earlier post, but if you wear no mask on a ride, breathing in and out hard because of the adrenaline rush, maybe even screaming as you hit a drop, you are putting lots of particulates into the air. The carriage behind you then passes through those particulates and they are breathing heavily too, taking in big gulps as they hit the drop and scream. It's about as extreme as you can get in droplet transference.

You know what's funny?

On a coaster, yes. I’m thinking more like SSE or Little Mermaid type rides.

I mean the risk is still pretty dang close to zero. My greater concern for children right now is whether significant childhood illnesses are being missed in many due to the attention to Covid.

There is certainly some delay in presentation, but as a whole volumes have drastically decreased in locations with low COIVD. Mostly due to other viral illnesses dropping in tandem.

KD is certainly not a unicorn at baseline. Our institution admits somewhere around 50-100 a year. If we followed the 30-fold increase that Italy was seeing, that would actually be sizeable. Especially with multisystem inflammatory syndrome requiring more PICU supports seemingly.

I think children will be deemed disproportionately unaffected, because they are so inherently resilient. Morality will still be quite low in even the incredibly sick. I'm also not arguing it justifies complete closures, but I think the school conversation will become more of a hot topic when more of this information starts coming to light from the WHO study.

Just to clarify. Airborne has a different definition. Covid19 has yet to be classified as airborne.
I think there is quite a bit of evidence out there (remember the study of restaurant transmission from some months ago) that this is borne in the air transmission. So whether it is "classified" or not, they wouldn't be recommending face masks in countries around the globe if they didn't believe it was being passed through the air. Now how long it is airborne, ie. sits around for some time after you have breathed out waiting for someone else to stroll into your cloud may be up for debate, but there is probably a strong case for roller coaster operators doing their own tests to determine whether "airborne" in the context of "you ride ahead of me and scream your lungs out, and I follow you path instantly and inhale everything, including virus" might amount to airborne transmission.

There have been plenty of people saying it's not a big deal. Just read through the thread...it's all there.

I still think we're going to see a bad second wave. Someone just posted pictures of people walking around in Disney Springs with no masks on the FIRST DAY OPEN.

What!!! Oh, wait, that is basically EXACTLY what I said would happen, and I bet Disney Springs opens to the public as planned, and...OMG.... there will be more people without masks.

If it is a vaccine like the so called flu “ vaccine” I won’t get it. If you can’t guarantee it prevents the disease it seems pointless to me!

Wearing a seatbelt won't definitely prevent you from being injured or dying in a car crash, so I won't wear one...

There are many different strains of the flu, and you cannot get vaccinated for them all. People smarter than us decide which strains to use for the vaccines based on probability factors. Also, just because something isn't 100% effective doesn't mean its pointless. There are no guarantees in life.

I will continue to wear my seat belt and not get the flu/covid shot! I am far less likely to die of the flu/covid than a car wreck! You know that old saying my body my choice! 🙄😉

You've signed up for the wrong reality if you want guarantees of 100% effectiveness or you won't participate.

From your bathtub to your car to the food you bring home to eat, there's a chance any one of those things can kill you. So, stay home unfed and unwashed until you are no longer subject to the whims of this feckless reality.... if you wish to be consistent.

Lots of people getting fired up over a mask. Either wear it or don’t go. Theme parks are not a right. Doesn’t matter anyhow, the people screaming the loudest will be the first to buy tickets...
Why do you always make assumptions about people? Just because someone is against masks or thinks it's a waste of time doesn't mean they won't comply with the rules.

There's are numerous reasons people choose not to get flu shots. I'm not sure this forum is the place to debate that.

But you’ll 100% be wearing a mask if you plan on visiting WDW anytime soon! 😉😉
Or you can be like this woman and try to lie your way in and make a scene. What a surprise, she’s a flat earther. I’m sure at some point Disney needs to be prepared for this when the parks open.
What a video.

Agreed. I personally think it’s silly to enforce them outdoors but I’ll wear them if it’s required.

I think it’s silly to “randomly” select guests for metal detectors and yet I still go. (And am randomly selected 90% of the time lol).
